Our Anniversary at WDW

Hello you incredibly helpful people,

The excitement builds and we're pretty much all ready to go, now only 87 days!

I was wondering if anybody can advise on any special things to do during the trip that I can surprise my partner with - anywhere within the resort is fine!

I should add that we have a few dinner reservations, but unfortunately are a little too late for Be Our Guest and 'Ohana. That said, we are thrilled with our others at Cinderella's Royal Table, Rainforest Cafe, Yak & Yeti, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restrautnt, La Hacienda de San Angel and The Crystal Palace.

Would just love to add that extra bit of magic and if there's any tips, they would be greatly appreciated.

Tx

Hi: My husband and I are taking our 50th wedding anniversary trip in 4 weeks, staying at POFQ.
We have scheduled a carriage ride, which originates at POR. We have done this before, and it is a beautiful, peaceful, romantic ride through POR or POFQ. We also have our favorite places to eat. We are trying Chef Art Smith's Homecoming at DS for a special dinner. We are not interested in fancy, 5 star restaurants, so don't know about those.
Hope you have a great time and congratulations!

Yes, we gave my hubby's parents a carriage ride through Port Orleans for their 40th this past year and they loved it. It's daily and I believe the 30-minute ride is about $40. They also have an hour option. Look on the Disney restaurant sites and maybe splurge on a signature restaurant for your anniversary! :inlove::inlove::inlove: CRT is a great choice.
Also, check out http://disneyworld.disneyfloralandgifts.com/ Maybe an in room celebration is something that would be special to both of you.

Make sure you get the "Happily Ever After/Happy Anniversary" buttons, you just never know when a CM has an extra FP to give away!

Congrats!

We spent our 40th anniversary @ WDW (honeymooned there 1977). We did our anniversary dinner at Jiko in the Animal Kingdom Lodge it was expensive but well worth it. The food is not your ordinary and basically I am a meat and potato guy but I must say there was nothing the wife and I had that we did not like-- butternut squash soup, elk and African flat breads-- it all was fantastic

We're going for our second anniversary in October, but it'll actually be our first trip together! My plan is to book California Grill for our celebratory dinner, so we can have a great meal followed by watching the MK fireworks from the observation deck.

I'll state the obvious ones, just to make sure you know about them.

Get the buttons at your resort front desk. They can write on them if they don't have specific ones there.

Make sure the anniversary is noted on all your dining reservations; the dining line can do this. Crystal Palace is one that will try and bring a little pixie dust your way. Wear those buttons!

Have you thought about one of the desert parties, or the Illuminations or HEA cruises?

If you're at MK, then stop by Casey's and ask for a request from the piano player. Or if you see the Main St Dapper Dans, they might be able to do a special number for you.

Happy Anniversary anyway!

If you can, add a signature restaurant of two such as California Grill or Narcoosee's. I mention those two because we did those on our 40th anniversary trip and really enjoyed both. We plan to go back next January for our 45th anniversary.

In a turn of events and sheer persistence, we've managed to snap up a reservation at Be Our Guest today!

Thank you all for your suggestions! Is it possible to have the Mickey ears customised with a name embroidered in the parks or is this a gift-only option?

I'm going to give the restaurant line a ring and let them know and indefinitely get those buttons.

Thank you also for the other dining recommendations, our mouths are currently watering as we whittling them down, haha.

I know you can get ears embroidered in Disney Springs. I think there's somewhere in MK too, but hopefully someone will be on soon and tell you for sure!

We celebrated a honeymoon and anniversary at WDW. Even though we had our celebration on our dining reservations, not all restaurants acknowledged it. So don't expect to receive anything but be pleasantly surprised when they do. Our best experience was dinner at Sanaa. They gave us two glasses of champagne and a special dessert. It was a fantastic surprise. For our anniversary trip, I surprised my husband with a behind the scenes tour. I chose Behind the Seeds because we've always enjoyed the ride Living with the Land. We lucked out and were the only ones on the tour! It was great and he really enjoyed it.
