OK after the Grammey's we have the Oscars.

The Best animated film is between Shrek and Monsters.

I saw Shrek. It's great but not Monsters so I couldn't tell ya.

As much as i think Monsters was the superior film....dreamworks has a LOT of pull at the oscars..so i wouldnt be suprised to see pixar get robbed...

Totally agree.

Bottom Line: I gave Monsters 3 out of 4 stars

Shrek get's 1/2 a star out of 4 stars

Another factor could be, Monsters and all Pixar films always have the original songs by randy newman or someone else.

Shrek just throws in Smashmouth???? What's up with that.

As a computer animator..I can already sort of predict whats going to happen....

The commitee is going to look at Monsters as just being another "pixar" movie..thinking nothing ground breaking came from it. This is FAAAAAAAAAAAR from true. Technically speaking, it pushed my industry to new levels and prooved that they can still be innovators in the field they helped invent.

Now..they are going to look at shrek...and see it as being a GENIUS parody of other cartoons. See it as being "witty", and then see the pretty Dreamworks logo (They just LOVE kissing their butt), and pretty much declair them the winner without looking at it from the perspective they SHOULD be....

O well....
