Osbourne Family Spectacle of Lights to Return in 2004

Disney has confirmed that the Osbourne Family Spectacle of Lights will be returning to the Disney-MGM Studios November 24, 2004-January 2, 2005. No location within the park has been announced, however.

I, for one, am banking on them for a vacation to be possible, lol. They were sorely missed last year.

THANK YOU SWEET LORD!!! Okay, I know I'm going in Sept, but I'm definitley going again in Dec. I went last year and was very disappointed not to be able to view the lights. Does anyone know what time in Dec they usually go up? Do they go up after Thanksgiving??

We used to go to WDW the week before Thanksgiving (and fly home Thanksgiving Eve) and the lights were always up. It's probably their "test" period. I think you'll be pretty safe.

The lights generally are turned on over the Thanksgiving holidays and last until Jan 2.

Thanks to conntom for noting that the Osborne family spells their name without the "u". (It's Ozzy's family that spells it with the "u"). The Osborne family website is pretty interesting, with lots of pictures from past years of lights displays at MGM (among other things!) If you go to the site, you will see that the Osbornes are a very unique family who are exceedingly philanthropic. I'm glad that I can call them family- Jennings and Mitzi are my husband's uncle and aunt.

I, for one, am so excited that the lights will be back up this year. It was really weird for our family to not be spending the holidays with the lights last year. Can't wait for Christmas to get here- I'm anxious for my little girl to behold the splendor and grandeur of the lights! :xmas: :xmas: :xmas:

Its also pretty official that it will be on "Big City Street" covering the stunt show restrooms, NY Street, San Fran, and Chicago. Though I always wished for Sunset Blvd (imagine the traffic on Sunset then...)

So the city "buildings" will be lit up....that should be nice, add the snow effect and perhaps the new lights will be better than when they were placed in the residential street houses...
