Osborne Family Lights

Hi all! We'll be seeing the Osborne Family Lights for the first time this year. I saw that they run from 6-8pm. Is this something that we need to be back towards that part of DHS early for or can we just casually get there at some time between 6-7 and enjoy it? Are there special things going on during the light show? Special vendors, etc? (Aside from the new Frozen experience package you can buy)

Any insight would be great. We'll be at DHS that day, but may leave (hop) and come back for lights later and just want to know how to plan accordingly.

Many thanks!

If you want to see them turn them all on then you will want to get there about 5:00-5:30. Otherwise, you can just arrive whenever, but expect a sizable crowd that slowly moves through the streets.

They tend to have a few of what I call "Flashy light carts" around where you can fulfill all of your seizure inducing flashing light hat, mug, toy, etc needs and they will typically have at least one cart selling hot chocolate.

The full music cycle is around 40-60 minutes, so if you want to hear all the songs plan on staying for roughly an hour.

Perfect. Thank you! Is there anything special that happens when they turn the lights on, beyond the obvious...is there pomp and circumstance that's worth seeing?

There is an audio lead up and a ceremonial flip of a giant switch. The best reason to watch the turn on is it will take your breath away!

If you have a large group or kids with you plan on a meeting place in case you get separated. So many people will be there for the turn on of the lights it's easy to misplace someone.

Yeah, see above. That area gets sooooo crowded but when those lights suddenly come on it's a really magnificent sight. So, it's totally worth a little bit of a wait just bring some sort of entertainment for while you are waiting.

Definitely a cool thing to experience.
