Ordering "off menu" vegetarian at the Cove Bar?

Hey all,

Has anyone had personal experience in ordering "off menu" vegetarian versions of the food at the Cove Bar? In particular, the nachos & the flatbread pizza? I'd love to go there, but they have only one vegetarian option on the menu & I'm not sure if my kids would be into it (the spinach artichoke dip).

It doesn't make any sense. Having hidden menu items is why the stupid Powerade-tasting Zombie drink at Mad T Party became popular enough to become the signature drink and replace the dearly missed Mad Long Island Iced T Party.

I think people love feeling like they've got inside information. When I worked as a waiter I saw an article that the number one reason people return to the same restaurant was recognition as a regular. Kinda ties into that.

That's exactly it. It's like In-N-Out's "secret menu," Californians love it because not everyone knows about it. It almost feels like a secret society when you order from the secret menu, and the person you're with gives you a confused look haha.

No problem ordering vegetarian versions of the nachos & flatbread. Worked out very well for us. The 7:45 PM last call/kitchen close is really strange. It made my family feel like we couldn't stick around for the World of Color show -- and we really should have, as it turned out. Anyway, the drinks and food were good and I found the environment relaxing.
