Ordering food to hotel

Howdy folks!

I can't quite believe, it's 25 days until we jet off on the holiday of a lifetime and it's becoming ever-real by the minute.

I've read in a few different places options available to order groceries to the hotel and wondered what you good selves might advise?

Essentially, some mornings, we're going to prepare our own breakfast and would like to order these either when we take off in England or when we land at MCO so that they arrive at the hotel when we do. What outlets would you recommend for this?

Many thanks,

Thomas

If you have Amazon Prime, I highly recommend Amazon Prime Now. There is no delivery charge and your order is delivered in 2 hours. If you don’t have Amazon Prime then Garden Grocer is also a good choice. The prices on APN are a little bit better than GC, but GC has a larger selection of items. For both services the resort will not charge a package fee since it’s a grocery delivery.

If you are interested in alcohol, Garden Grocer sells a variety of beers and wines, while amazon does not. A couple of beers in your room after the parks or bringing a beer to the pool can save you a small fortune over the duration of a trip with Disney alcohol prices.

Most of the vendors let you schedule your delivery in advance, so you could place your order now. Some even offer discounts for scheduling it in advance. Lots of threads on here about the grocery delivery, try to search for Garden Grocer or WeGoShop to find them. All the services have their pluses & minuses. Differing selections, different costs, etc.

Thank you all! I think we'll probably go with Amazon as we're familiar with their ordering process. Lastly, do we just order it to the hotel's main address and it gets dropped off at reception?

Big love,

Tx

When we ordered from Amazon Prime Now when staying at Coronado Springs, they dropped it off at luggage claim as they had a refrigerator/freezer there too. We had to pick it up from there as well.

It’s important to make sure that your boxes are also clearly labelled. When addressed, be sure to include a variation on the following:

Arrival Date
Name of Resort
Address
City, State and Zip

Just an FYI I have seen some claim Disney is now charging $5 per package which can add up with Amazon since they often break up orders into more than one box depending on various factors. One report I read said it was only on boxes shipped in from online vendors like Amazon and not grocery delivery. Anyone able to confirm this charge?

I don't know if this helps but we always pack our favorite breakfast cereals and buy milk at the resort store. It saves money and time in the morning. Also, when they are empty and you throw the box away you then have room for your souvenirs.

If you ship using Amazon Prime Now it is considered a grocery delivery and not a package.

As a PP said, Prime Now isn't a package. It comes via courier, and not shipper. Rule of thumb, it it comes via USPS, FedEx, or UPS you will be charged the delivery/handling fee as most guests send them to arrive in advance. If it comes via courier like Garden Grocer, Prime Now, etc those aren't charged the handling fee as those are typically arriving the same day/time you are.
