New Transformers have appeared at Universal Hollywood. They can fully interact and react to guests verbally, even repeating back guests names. Hopefully these will come to Orlando soon.
I was thinking the same thing. The difference is the Transformers don't have mouths. Could you imagine how creepy it would be to meet a talking Mickey that's lips don't move?Disney needs to step it up!
Those are AMAZING!!!!!!![]()
I don't see this as anything all that revolutionary. Apparently its somebody else doing the talking. That's impressive because the actor in the suit needs to act appropriately, but otherwise I don't see it as all that much different than Push the Trashcan at Disney's parks or the Mystic Fountain at Islands of Adventure.
Those shows involve real time animation. The faces on the costume remain static. It's more in line with Turtle Talk or Laugh Floor except with a extremely well done costume and a character most young boys will eat up. (The would have included me back in the early 80s)
It's good, but if the mouths moved it would be great.

You compared them to a fountain that just shoots water...
And it talks to people via an actor located elsewhere, just like the Transformers characters. How is the description not apt? Because the technology has become small enough to now place it on a character costume?
How is the comparison not appropriate? Where is the huge difference? The comparison wasn't apt. This is clearly more impressive, even if it uses the same idea. The fact that their faces aren't animated doesn't bother me. I'm not sure how they would even accomplish that, given how the costumes were designed. The voices are merely an extra add-on to what they originally planned.
Villains are always more fun!Megaton was way better than Optimus.
He at least gets to goof on people a little bit, being a villain.
