One of my cousins called me today to ask for my help booking a trip to WDW. She wants to go soon -before the summer vacations- and her main request is "not doing long lines".

So, she is avoiding Easter of course, but was asking me when is the 'low season' before July and when is the time to get a good deal at the All Stars or so.

Before I say something to her, I thought I would ask the expert travelers. I remember Easter as the worst time -crowd wise- but other than that, I don´t remember much. While I lived there, I was working and crowds felt pretty much the same after experiencing Easter!

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

Maria! Haven't talked to you in ages!

The first part of May is a great time to go, no lines and so forth. If you look in the Unofficial Guide to WDW, they list the lowest populated times of the year. I found it to be a great sorce.

I know you said 'soon' but from my experience last year, the first two weeks of September where dead. It started to pick up towards the end of the second week, but before that the most we queued was probably about 15mins.

I can remember doing everything we wanted to do in MK before it was even lunchtime. The only things with queues were the rides in Fantasyland.

February is also a great time to go...I don't know if that is TOO soon:) but just about the whole month of February (except for President's day week) is great. Beautiful weather, and short lines!:animwink:

Maria:

Price wise, you get a better deal on room rates before 2-12-04. That is when the price jumps....I suppose heading into Spring Break times. I have been in February and it is still pretty nice weather. Also, May is a good time to go. I think after mid April the price lowers some and the weather is warmer, but still a calmer time at the parks. PM me if you want more info.

I was thinking May too. I have heard good things about it and I think the flower festivil is then too. (not sure since I haven't gone in May yet, but hope to some day.)

That gives her enough time to plan, but I don't know if any codes are out yet, so she may want to book, but keep an eye open (or you keep one for her.)

I'm going in May because it's appears to be a lot of happy mediums. Weather: Hot enough to swim, but not to cook a hot dog on the street; Crowds: Not empty (which is not as fun as you might think; been there in January and it wasn't the same feel), but not too crowded either; Price: Still expensive, but not so much that you need a second mortgage.

Still, You might want to put your cousin in touch with Pam from Kingdom Konsultant:

Thanks a lot to all of you! :)

Yeah, February is a good time to go, but I am not sure if that´s too soon for them, I´ll tell her though.
September is dead, I know! ...but I think she will not be able to go then because it´s the beginning of school for her son.
I´ll check into May - Flower and Garden Festival is then, I´ll check on the dates.

When is President´s weekend? :veryconfu

Thanks! I told my cousin about your replies, and I think she is leaning towards May too... we´ll see. We have a few holidays in May here, so it can be very possible. (and we are used to the May heat too! hehe) :animwink:

Wouldn't Memorial weekend be pretty busy? If I could wait, I would be going in May, but April will have to do. Hope y'all have fun. :sohappy:

Oh no! Not Memorial weekend... I was referring to holidays in Mexico! Sorry about that... I live in Mexico. :animwink:
We have 1st of May, 5th of May, then Mother´s day, teacher´s day... and if they are near the weekend, we get a long weekend too! (we have set dates... never the 'second sunday, third sunday, etc...') :p

:brick: Sorry, my medication usually doesn't kick in for another hour! Sounds like you all know how to do holidays in Mexico!
