I haven't read or heard anythign more about the Nick KidZone store... I thought it already opened since chatter about it died down... As for the KidZone refurb, I don't think Woddy Woodpecker will go anywhere... Universal is releasing a new animated movie in the theaters in 2015 or 2015 for Woody Woodpecker... I can see a Sponge Bob water play area in KidZone....

I can see a Sponge Bob water play area in the KidZone as well....that would be smart for universal to release a new Woody Woodpecker movie to revitalize the franchise since Woody Woodpecker is one of the main characters at Universal Orlando...thanks for the info

No problem... I have to correct myself though... The Woody Woodpecker feature is scheduled for 2014 and is being made by the same studio that brought us Despicable Me, Illumination Entertainment... They also did Hop, The Lorax and working on Despicable Me 2 for 2013... IMDb does not have this info on their site yet but I know read it somewhere... I will see if I can find the article again...

EDIT: Deadline has it.. http://www.deadline.com/2012/04/ill...d-butt-head-scribes-for-woody-woodpecker-pic/

BREAKING: Chris Meledandri’s Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures have set John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky to write the script Woody Woodpecker, the venerable and precociously noisy bird that first appeared in 1940 and will be resurrected in an animated feature.

Altschuler and Krinsky’s animated credits include the Mike Judge series creations Beavis And Butt-Head and King of The Hill, and they also scripted the Will Ferrell-Jon Heder figure skating comedy Blades of Glory. The film joins the roster of development projects for Illumination, which most recently released Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. The scribes are repped by WME and 3 Arts.

Thanks for the link and info...I like how Universal is going to revamp Woody Woodpecker for a younger generation....Since Universal doesn't have a character like Mickey and Disney I feel that Woody Woodpecker is that or can be for Universal

Back on the Despicable Me topic...is there any estimated date that we could see the attraction open or is Universal still just saying sometime this summer
