Only two people in a boat?

So, the wife and I had a nice day at Epcot today and one of the first things we did was to go to the Mexican pavilion and look around and go on the Gran Fiesta ride (although I sorely miss the original Rio del Tiempo).

Anyhow, we're in the last part of the line going down to the boats and we see a couple come down through an open line without waiting in the queue, and walk right up to the CMs who ask "how many".

I wasn't close enough to see any badge or anything flashed or close enough to hear anything said, but this couple ended up getting an entire boat to themselves.

I'm just curious what special occasion would have led to them getting an entire boat to themselves and being able to jump the queue. Is this something done for newlyweds or some special occasion, and what badge or ID or whatever would let the CMs know to do this for them? I've never seen this happen before so I'm quite curious!

My guess would be they are celebrating something and a CM gave them a special moment, or they are famous. On our honeymoon, my wife and I got escorted to a private elevator at the American Adventure for priority seating before the attraction opened to the rest of those waiting.

Did they have "Happily Ever After" pins on? We got some goodies and special treatment when we were there for our wedding/honeymoon with our pins.

Well maybe it was celebrities or something. My granddaughter informed me yesterday to look for movie stars next week because "lots of them go to WDW for spring break"o_O
Don't ask me where she got that one from..

It's also possible they could be VIPs for the Mexican pavilion. While I've only seen VIP access for things with more traditional corporate sponsors (we got to do this at UOE courtesy of my FIL back in '98), I imagine the respective countries grant VIP status to certain visitors.
