Hello everyone! I've been posting on here for a while now, so I'm sure many of you already know that I will be heading to Disney in only FOUR DAYS. I'm SO EXCITED. And yet not so excited. I was hoping of having a cast of three, however our 18m old won't be accompanying us this trip. Lots of things factored into whether we'd bring her or not (paying for the extra plane ticket, she hates rides, terrified of characters, etc) so we decided that we're going to just have to go AGAIN when she's a little older. But until then, the deals we got were too good to pass up, and after a few CRAZY months and knowing we are going to have the CRAZY holidays ahead, we knew we needed this vacation.
Now I'll be polite and introduce our tiny cast.
This is my boyfriend (Angel) and I (Kim) a few weeks ago at his sister's quinceanera. While he's excited to be going away, he doesn't understand my love for Disney. The last time I traveled there was in 2010 with my friend and her family and the only parks we went to were Epcot and Islands of Adventure; and we stayed at Old Key West (which is beautiful). Before that trip I hadn't been there since I was 7, so this is my first trip to MK, HS, and AK in almost 14 years. Boyfriend has never been to Disney before. Ever. So I'm sure it's pretty obvious who decided the location of our trip. HEY! We're going to Puerto Rico next summer to visit his family, it's only fair I get to choose this time.
What else should you know? We're going to visit our friends Nick and Jackie, both of whom are lucky enough to work there. We haven't seen Nick since he moved to Orlando last year, and Jackie is there for the college program, so we're looking forward to seeing them both.
We will be staying at Pop Century and will be using the QS dining plan because boyfriend is picky and I don't want to be stuck with chicken fingers all week. Hahaha.
Here's what I've got so far:
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 2ND
Leave home around 11 (and say bye to baby. Ugh.) to be at the Philadelphia airport for our 1:36pm flight. We will have a brief stop in Newark at 2:45pm, but will be back on our way again at 3:20pm with hopes of landing in Orlando at 6:30pm. Hopefully we will be at the resort around 7:30pm with enough time to unpack and have some dinner.
MONDAY, DECEMBER 3RD
Magic Kingdom ALL DAY. I know that MK is more crowded on Mondays, but it has EMH and Nick only gets enough tickets to get us into MK for one day, so since it's open 9am until 1am I think we'll have PLENTY of time to do everything we want to.
Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, PhilharMagic, Barnstormer, Laugh Floor, Pirates of the Caribbean, and WISHES.
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 4TH
Hollywood Studios. Hours are 9:00am until 8:00pm.
Rock n Roller Coaster, Star Tours, Tower of Terror, and Fantasmic!
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5TH
Sea World! I know, it's not Disney, but we're getting in for FREE! So I don't care! Haha. Our friend Nick's sister just got a job there and scored us some tickets, so of COURSE we are going. I've never been there, so I'm looking forward to it. Hours are 9:00am until 6:00pm.
Afterward we will head to Downtown Disney for dinner and shopping.
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 6TH
Animal Kingdom. Hours are 9:00am until 6:00pm.
We MIGHT go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, though we're waiting to decide based on how busy it's supposed to be. We don't want to go if it's going to be sold out and crazy busy.
If we decide to skip it, we'll instead go visit other resorts, like Poly, AoA, etc.
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7TH
Epcot. Hours are 9:00am until 12:30am. I'm hoping we can get there semi early to run through Future World and hit World Showcase right when it's open. I want to get through it while it's light out, and then worry about going back to Future World toward the end of the night.
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8TH
Check out of Pop at 11:00am. Wander resorts and Downtown Disney until we have to get back onto the Magical Express to head home. Our flight leave Orlando at 7:00pm, will stop in Washington DC around 9:05pm, will leave there around 10:05pm, and will land back in Philadelphia at 11:05pm. Therefore we will be home around 12:00am, and baby will be sleeping.
I want to hear everyone's opinions! I can't decide where to go first when we get to parks and we want to make sure we don't miss anything! Are there any attractions you'd kick yourself if you missed? What about QS locations? We don't need to always eat at the parks, but let me know your favorites!
Thanks everyone!
