Online or Resort Checkin

I'm 20 days out from my trip and still undecided as to do Online or Resort check in. Our flight lands at 2:50pm so day 1 is just a leisurely paced kinda day, no dinner reservations and our first FP isn't until 6. What's your preferred way to check in and why?

I prefer online check in because I like getting my room number and avoiding the front desk all together. (no guarantees on that but it has worked every time for me since they started direct to room in 2015).
Also if I want I can always go down to the front desk after I put my stuff in my room.

If you really enjoy interaction then feel free to not do online check in.

If you are going to opt out of housekeeping and get the daily gift card, you will need to go to the front desk, so I would do Resort Check in, if not, online is great

I opted out last time and I still did online check in. You just have to go to the front desk at some point arrival day. I was glad that I could take a few to freshen up and then went down on my way out to Disney Springs.

Correct you can do, but my point was, that if you are going to do it, and you have to go tot the desk anyway, might as well make it a 2fer

I always do online. I know there are no guarantees, but by doing it online, you can tell them your anticipated arrival time...which, for us, has led to us having our room ready upon arrival...even at 7am. I also like having my room requests physically documented ahead of my arrival. I know many people like to phone these in, but I've had better luck with the online form.

I did the online checkin today...our flight lands at 3:00 so we figured we go straight to our room and freshen up. We’ll drop off our carryons and swing by the front desk to opt out of housekeeping on our way to the parks.
