Online check in

I am near the time when I can check in online to stay at the contemporary. I have been to Disney recently so i am familiar with the parks, but I am trying to figure out two things.

1. Is there any drawback to doing online checkin?

2. Any pointers on room requests for staying at the contemporary, garden view?

2. You can't do room requests on Online Checkin -- you have to call Disney Reservations and make the request on the phone.

There could be a draw back on online-check in. It just depends on how many people have checked in online around your time so you could possibly have a longer line. ​

That is what I figured. I am going to be there for 9 days, so I was thinking of trying to get a room near someplace to do laundry so we don't have to pack as much.

there are a few preset items that pop up under special requests with online check in but they seem to be resort specific and sometimes the only option is do you want a pack n play and do you want to be by transportation, other times it includes specific buildings things like that. we've stayed at all levels of disney resorts and i don't remember ever seeing one that includes being near a laundry facility.
