Online Check in.....Check!

After much discussion with DH, we decided to check in online. I completed the process this morning but I am feeling that I should call the front desk to verify. I have never taken advantage of online check-in before so this is a new experience for me. Once I completed the process and clicked "finish", I received a message that stated "online check-in" unable to process at this time. Within a minute, I received a text on my i-Phone to verify. Went back to My Disney Experience and rather than saying "online check-in" it says....."modify check-in". So I guess I can assume that I am all set. Check-in Tuesday the 17th.....can't wait!:cat:

Looks like you are all ready! We always do online check in and love that everything is ready when we get there and usually no line. We arrive as early as 8am and most of the time our room is ready! We go a few times a year living 3 hours away and don't need all the instruction of where everything is and such. So it works for us. Even if you do online check in and have questions they are always willing to answer them and be helpful!

I'm so glad you posted this, because I tried to Online Check-in this morning for our trip Oct 19th and I kept getting the "unable to process at this time, try later" type message as well, and couldn't figure out why. After reading this, I just checked MDE and sure enough, mine says "modify" as well, so I'm thinking what you're thinking. Yay!

I've been having issues today with online check in also, I'm glad you mentioned that it changes to "modify" I didn't notice that and was only slightly freaking out.

I'm wondering whether to try online check in when my time comes around. Does anyone have any experience of whether room requests are honoured when checking in online, or is it better to wait and speak to a CM when at the resort?

I have tried to check in but get the same error message but it now says modify on my disney experience. This is the first time I have used online check in but it didn't give us an option to choose a room so I don't know if that helps answer your question? I guess we can make any requests when we arrive.

I made a request a few months ago and when I checked-in online, I was given a choice of 2 out of about 6 very generic requests....highest floor, near the elevator. In a moment of panic, I called the WL directly and asked if my previous request was noted and the CM said no...so I requested again and she said they would make a note of it. As you know...requests are just that.....requests and as much as they try to honor them, it is not always possible. Have a magical vacation...I leave Tuesday.....:cat:

I have been trying to Check in this morning and I too am getting the Error Messages...however when I go check it does say Modify check in - one thing I found strange was it let me put in requests for the room, but didn't let me pick that I wanted a play pen or any other amenities. Any one else have that issue?

I am planning on calling later or I am going to try the online chat.

Online check in is good if you are a regular and don't have any questions. If you have questions, or need with anything then regular line is better for you. I'm like poofiesdream, I live a couple of hours a way and we'll go a few times a year. We don't need an explanation. Just give me my pamphlet so I can race to a park.
