One thing I miss about Spectro Magic

The best part I think of Spectro Magic was Jiminy Cricket hosting the show. Hearing that computer voice doesn't do it for me at all. There was such a warm feeling about that.

While I have yet to experience MSEP since it has gone back to the world, I can certainly understand your loss of Jiminy. I do love that he hosts the show. It is a warm feeling but I really can't wait to see MSEP. It was my favorite as a kid.

Well I am torn on this one. I grew up with both shows.

There is something nostalgic and butterfly in my stomach feeling hearing the Hoedown, Synthetic Voice etc. It is truly Disney.

but then I do remember Spectro when it debuted. At first hated it. I was like its so not the Electrical Parade...

But then I learned I LOVE Spectro and Jiminy has that something to add to it.

So I am torn as to which one I like more. I guess I hope I can see MSEP this yr and next hit up Spectro. LOL

There's just something really "grand" about spectro magic. Like I said in another thread, there's this regalness about it that makes that parade really special. Least for me. I haven't seen MSEP live but have seen various showings of it on youtube. It just doesn't feel as grand as spectro to me. But that's just my opinion. We're going down to the world late November. I'm going to really miss spectro.

The beginning of that song in Spectromagic I think makes it sound regal. My Mom just loves it. She never misses it.

Spectro magic has more of a warm feeling but then the Electrical Parade has some pretty amazing floats. Hey... if Disneyland has World of color and no room for the Electrical Parade why dont they just combine the 2 parades and use the Spectro Magic music. I dont mean all the floats at once, that would be a disaster but they could use half and half and switch some out once in a while. I do hate the new Electrical Parade music. I get the same warm feeling during and before the Spectro Magic parade I get on Christmas Eve hearing all Christmas music with the tree lit and all the lights in the houses. No joke thats how good of a job they did with that parade. I hope when it does come back the music isn't dumbed down like the Electrical Parade music. That would be truly devastating.

I miss millions of things starting with each individual light bulb. I'll make a short list:

1.) Light Bulb A1
2.) Light Bulb A2
3.) Light Bulb A3
4.) Light Bulb A4

I LOVE the music for Spectromagic. I just bought the CD. Whenever I hear it I have flashbacks to being there with my wife both for when we got engaged and for our honeymoon. The music is very magical and majestic sounding. Truly the Disney sound!

I'll take MSEP any day over Spectro. It's more of a classic, and the updated floats are great. Takes me back to better times.

I love Spectro too. But I have to admit I've never seen the Electrical Parade, so I can't make comparisons. I suppose I'll see it eventually...

I've got the CD too! Listening to it puts me in a good mood when I've had a downer day.

Thats why I accept it LOL. I dont like the new music, that just kills half the originality.

My parents have the CD. One time we were riding thru a state park with these amazing light setups and as we entered the route with the lights the CD changed and the Spectro Magic music played. That was kind of funny. Purposing during Spectro Magic sounds like a good creative idea. I always imagined doing that at the train station bouchany during wishes but I am 19 and I think trying to make it buy ourselves would just destroy us and make our lives harder LOL.

I don't care for Spectro at all. The music is too subdued and lacks the fun and upbeat feeling of MSEP. And those clowns with the horns are just too creepy. I only wish MSEP would restore the original soundtrack. The new soundtrack is not anywhere near as good.

Crush Dude!

Back from WDW!Counting down to DLP in November!
I agree and disagree!!

Saw MSEP for the 1st time in 12 years in August and i was blown away by the floats, was a great parade and i esp love the announcement at the start...... but....

When i went to wdw for the 1st time in 10 years i couldnt wait to see Spectro as i remembered how great MSEP was in 98, then a month before we were leaving they announced it would be down for the exact 2 weeks we would be there for the liberty bridge refurb

The following year i finally got to see it, LOVED the music and everything about it, and watched it every night we were in the MK over a 3 week trip!

So as much as i do like MSEP it has to be Spectro that wins out for me, from the music to the atmosphere when watching it and The priceless introduction and finale by Jiminy Cricket :sohappy::sohappy::sohappy:
