Just bought a 100 point contract on the secondary market at SSR. I have a question.
Our points hit on April 1st 2015. We have a booked WDW trip (non DVC) already in 2014 so this is not a issue. But since we are now tending to take our WDW trips in the first to second week of June each year I was wondering the following. Please correct me if I am wrong on anything regarding this.
I can not start booking a room using the points until they hit, in my case April 1st 2105.Is this correct?
If so my options as I see them.
1. Since that is only 2 months before my desired trip time (Early June 2015) it would seem I would have a hard time booking a room. I know it very dependent upon my desired resort but say a Studio at SSR in this case. What are the chances I could still book that in early April 2015 for a early June 2015 date?
2. If I really do not have a chance to get a booking within that window : could I "borrow" points from April 2015 in April of 2014 and then use those to book 11 months out (May 2014) for June 2015? This would of course resolve the problem if I could. Then I would have to do the same each year almost it seems to keep receiving my points in April and traveling in June each year with only a two month booking window. Not crazy about always borrowing each year, is there a downside to this if it is even possible?
3. My other thought is to book a bounce back offer this June when we go non DVC (it seems we always get one when we go to WDW) for my June 2015 trip. Then bank the points from April 2015 into 2016. I could then start the booking of the June 2016 trip in May of 2015 and be somewhat ahead on my points in a way as when I travel that trip in June 2016 and use my 2015 points I will have already received my 2016 points.
4. Get rid of my kids on eBay and be able to travel whenever I want!
