• Performances by Billy Hill & the Hillbillies at The Golden Horseshoe from 11:15 p.m. – 4:45 a.m.

• Darth Vader and Stormtroopers in Tomorrowland
• Country Bears in Frontierland

Plus the special and free "Midnight Snack" coffee, hot cocoa, snacks and fun in the Big Thunder Ranch, hosted by the Disney Parks Blog gang.

If you are planning to visit Disneyland park for One More Disney Day – February 29 – be sure to stop by Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue from 11:45 p.m. – 12:45 a.m. to join us for:
• Delicious treats and hot beverages
• Meet & greets with Disney characters
• Live music by Denny Moynahan
• Other surprises to be announced

Add in the unique menu items at the overnight restaurants, like the Blue Bayou until 3AM or Cafe Orleans for retro breakfast specials, and the special merchandise and ear hat giveaways, and I think Disneyland has really done up this Leap Year Day promotion quite nicely! It should be fun for all who attend.

From the official Disneyland Twitter

"One More Disney Day"@Disneyland park is extremely popular. Disneyland park is currently full. Updates to follow. #Disney24

It could just be to new ticket sales, but I've been hearing the park is extremely packed.

At this second DL has not suspended ticket sales or restricted first entry, but I was just told that they are "very close" to doing both.

I just got back home. I had to turn around and come back, the traffic was just too bad. And when I drove over the Santa Ana Freeway at 10PM and saw the gridlock that stretched to the LA County line, I knew it was bad. I made an illegal u-turn in a neighborhood culdesac north of the parking structure and hightailed it back to Villa Park and made it home in 20 minutes.

The Orange County Register is now reporting that Disneyland has stopped ticket sales and won't let anyone else in to the park at 10:30PM. http://ocresort.ocregister.com/2012/02/29/disneyland-fills-up-late-for-24-hour-party/109409/

The sigalert.com website and the Caltrans traffic cams online show the I-5 Santa Ana Freeway is nearly gridlocked southbound out of LA county for several miles before the Disneyland exits, and the northbound traffic on the I-5 is very heavy on the offramps. The surface streets all around the Resort area were a nightmare; like Las Vegas Blvd. on New Years Eve.

I think this little promotion was a bit too popular for Disneyland. This sounds like it's the new version of the infamous Halloween radio promotion in the mid 1990's to "get in free to Disneyland if you wear a costume today".

But I'm glad I decided to turn around. It looked not only insanely busy with endless freeway traffic trying to get in, but it seemed barely under control. Yikes.
