Hey all,

hope you can help me out. My girlfriend and I will be staying in the world for 2 weeks the last week of october, 1st week of november, Her first time to Florida, I've been many, but have never been to Universal Studios. To see everything Universal and IOA has to offer without feeling too rushed, knowing its a slow time of year and we're both Disney lovers first and foremost, should we get a 2 day pass to Universal, or a one day pass with "front of line" privileges to get it all in, in one day?

I would do 2 days.. they have some really good shows you dont want to miss liike beetle juice and the Animal show! I would def do 2 days even if you do the second day and want to leave leave early and go to a disney park, thats what I did last yr. I bought an extra day for disney and used it after i got bored with Universal.. What days will you be there?

^^^^^ I heard that Beetlejuice is closed now.

If you really want to take your time you should do it over the two days. I assume since its your first time you'll want to do all the rides.
However if crowd levels are expected to be low then its not impossible to get everything done in one day.

An idea is to start in one park, do everything and if you've got time left, head to the other park to do maybe one or two things. Then next day go to the second park, do everything and if you've time left go back to the first one to do the things you liked the most again.

I've been monitoring the queue times for Harry Potter and it seems the best time to go there is around 5-6pm.

I go for 8 days! But we also do Seaworld and look around I-Drive as well! My BF and I haven't bothered with Citywalk too much, love Bubba Gumps! In 2008 we were impressed with the Endangered species store but in 2010 it didn't sell many ornaments like last time.

We also do Seaworld which is 1 day max and busch gardens for 1 day. We seem to really enjoy universal and we catch a show sometimes(Wrestling), although after the last one I willl never go back to TNA wrestling(Or impact whatever it is now)but Blu man group, citywalk(Good food) and they usually play old movies at the cineplex which we sometimes catch.

We also llove Bubba Gumps:)

During slow times of the year. Uni will sometimes offer deals over the internet. Last year they offered a 2 day/2 park ticket for $99 and then you got the rest of the week for free. I do think they stopped it once Potter opened so not sure if they are gonna repeat it. If you are renting a car it might be worth it to spring for the AP. Free parking and discounts on a lot of stuff. Then you could do half days and do dinner at city walk or visa versa

Your on Vacation and why rush things. Take two days to see Uni and all it has to offer. This way you will experience the parks and all it has to offer. My family loves Disney but we always make time to see Uni without rushing around. I tried the rush through Uni once and did not enjoy this. Felt that rushing did not allow me to see everything that I wanted to at a relaxed pace. Also look into the two day pass and look for discounts. For us a two day park hopper is the way to go.

We were there end of Feb and it was dead as far as crowds go. But it did take a full 2 days to ride every single ride and see every single show at least once. And at US -- do NOT miss the Horror Make-Up show. It was an absolute RIOT!

Agree with others, 2 days for sure, You can't do Uni & IOA in half a day each.

You can if you stay on-site. Easily.

In 1 hour, we did HRRR (twice), Jaws, Men In Black, Revenge Of The Mummy.

In 3 hours, we did Hulk (twice), Forbidden Journey, Dragon Challenge (twice), Spider-Man, Rip Saw Falls, Popeye, Flight of the Hippograph and Cat In The Hat. We also stopped for breakfast and lunch in that time, and went over to Universal to do HRRR again.

That being said, I would spend 2 days as well. Then again, I would never do Universal unless I was staying on-site.

We do stay on site, Uni I could do in half a day easily, but IOA is an all day park IMO. I'm not too fussed about Uni but I do it as its part of the package.

Been there twice in the past year and stayed onsite both times. First time, without the kids, the wife and I found 2 days to be plenty and we saw all the shows. Of course, the express pass allowed it, and we did get the early entry for Potter so we were able to use each day's early entry to enjoy all that Potter had to offer. This year, took the kids. Even with stopping at more of the kiddie rides, we still found two days to be enough. We took breaks during the middle of each day to go back to the pool, and the park closed early each day (6PM and 7PM respectively), and we only missed the Horror and Beetlejuice shows...kids weren't interested and we had seen them already. Did many rides multiple times (Hulk, Dueling Dragons, Hippogriff, MiB at least 5 times, Mummy at least 4 times, HRRR twice, Jaws twice, Spiderman twice, etc). Two days is plenty if you stay onsite. Note that Jurassic Park River ride was closed as of Saturday. ET also had a habit of being down.
