We drive every trip it's just how we like to roll! I am putting music together for our trip and would like some input for going to Disney music!! Loading it onto a usb for the first time should be easier than using the new computer system and much more compact than a case of 8-tracks and cassettes! LOL

When we used to drive to FL, we always got the Disney singalong tapes, then CDs for the drive down. We also had a usb port in our car, before we got the entertainment packages (screens behind the head rests) and would bring Disney CDs for DS to watch on my laptop on the way down, and when ANY song came on through out any of the movies, I'd have DS crank up the sound and sing right along with him. Under da seaaaaaa under da seaaaaaaaa.... made for some great memories too!!!!

We drive....we are only about a 10 hour drive so it isn't bad. I am well trained. Growing up we drove 16-18 hours straight thru to visit family for our vacays (Alabama to Kansas). So my husband loves that I don't need to stop every 2 hours for potty breaks. Must run in our genes b/c when we took our daughter to WDW in 2011 she was a few days shy of 3. She was AMAZING! She read to herself and played with stuffed animals. We didn't have to turn on the DVD player until it got dark and the only reason why we did was b/c she was fighting sleeping and couldn't read. There were seriously times my husband and I forgot she was in the car with us. She was almost done potty training at this point so we put a pull up on her and she never went in it. We only stopped twice I think before we hit Talahassee for the evening. I am hoping and praying she is this good for our trip in September. She has a LeapPad and is even more obsessed with books (she now makes up stories versuses just repeating what we have read to her) so I expect it to be pretty easy. Fingers crossed! And my husband is a "Zero Below" driver too. I always make sure to bring a good blanket and pillow and just curl up and sleep. :p

We always fly but we don't let that keep us from getting a headstart on vacation. Our mp3's are loaded up with Disney music. The albums we listen to the most are: Disney's Greatest Vol. 1, 2, and 3, Disney's Ultimate Swaschbuckler Collection, Disney's Villains- Simply Sinister Songs, and Disney-Pixar Greatest,

We spent 18 hours in the car. I did all the driving, so I picked what was on the radio. Want to listen to something else, by all means, take the wheel!!! If you're riding with me, I hope you like Boz Scaggs, George Thorogood, show tunes and 80s pop!! If not, you'd better be driving!

But I only subjected everyone to a few Disney songs. I love that Jammin Jungle music and it got played at the one hour mark. The next day, we'd hear the music from Illuminations, the 30 second ITTBAB finale and maybe one other Disney song.

If we broke the drive into 3 days, which we did a lot, the last morning began with the Main Street Welcome Medley.

Any more Disney than that and they'd have pushed me out of the car, I think. :)

That's funny I ride down with 2 or 3 blankets wrapped around me when my dh is driving!! He likes the cold!!
It's a man thing. I won't admit I'm sleepy and need a break, thus relinquishing control ofthe the driving. Instead I keep it at a teeth chattering temperature making it physically impossible to sleep without long underwear and two quilts. The things I do to save face and as Seinfeld put it 'be masters of our domain" :p

Ohh, I have such vivid memories of driving down to FL from NY in our '73 Suburban and songs we sung! I would be carefull not to OD on too much Disney music before you even get there though! I would switch it up! Enjoy!!
