We are planning a May trip and wonder about staying on site vs. a suite at one of the preferred Disney hotels off site?

Also are there any Disney room suites that aren't super expensive?

My daughter will be almost 3 at the time so we will need the down time for her to take a nap in the room. We really want her to enjoy her visit and she needs a quiet room of her own to take on in. She doesn't sleep in a stroller.

Thanks for any advice.

I would suggest staying on site. There are family suites at the value resorts where you would have a separate room for adult time. I want to say they are around 200 a night and come with a kitchenette.

You might also want to look into the resorts near Magic Kingdom. Chances are thats where you will be spending most of your time.

Call the kingdom Konsultants. They are amazing! Disneyfalcon is our travel agent for life now!!!!

Whatever you do stay on-site...

All I can say is....stay on site. We went last year with our two young sons (ages 4 and 1.5 at the time) and being on site was a blessing. We went into the parks in the morning, came out at lunch, did lunch and naps till about 4 pm (sometimes we even went for a swim), and then went back into the parks for the evening and dinner. This was easy and it never took us more than 20 minutes to get to and from our hotel room.

If you stay off-site, even at a Disney preferred hotel, you won't have the luxury of using the Disney transportation, which will drop you off at the entrance to the park, and which can have you to and from your hotel room in about 20 minutes, depending on crowds. You'll have to drive your own car to the parks, pay for parking, find a parking space, and then make your way into the theme-park. This could easily take an hour or more depending where you stay. If your child naps in the afternoon, like most do at that age, you'll have to come out, go back to your room and then do it all over again. :sohappy:

Some of the hotels do offer shuttles back and forth but they are on a schedule and don't offer the best flexibility.

My wife never realized how nice it was to stay onsite until our last trip and now she would never dream of staying at an off-site hotel. Just some food for thought. Either way enjoy your trip. Your child is goign to have such a great time and so will you.
