I think that's the 'hero' tank from Last Crusade, if I remember correctly. And, ironically, it was based on a post-WWI US made tank, the Mark VIII. Then again, not so ironic if a 3rd world country bought one from the US, I suppose.

Thanks for the replies! I searched the internet could only find the british tanks (mark I-IV) that did not have the turret. With the Mark Viii id, I found lots of info. Tanks again!

If you are interested in armor, as in tanks, here is a link to the museum at Ft. Knox, Ky. Ft. Knox is the Armor center for the US Army.

:)

Thanks for the reference. I was really interested in the history of the tank at the Indiana Jones show and wanted to determine if it was "real" or a movie prop. It turns out that it is a prop for the Last Crusade built by Lucus. Although it is very similar to the Mark VIII or Liberty Tank, the turret is a copy from a more modern tank, yet to be identified. One Disney mistery mostly solved.

A little tidbid about that tank....

They removed the metal treads on it and replaced them with rubber so when they did the fight scenes, they wouldn't get gashed or ripped by the metal treads.

Is the tank still in the show?
The tank I am talking about is located outside the show venue in a static display on the north side. Also the tracks on the tank are steel, but with unique tread pattern, not seen on any of the "real" tanks.
