Im staying there for the first time this year, and I was wondering if there were any suggestions as to which building to request.I'd like to be near the front of the resort as my dad can't really walk the distances and is too pround to get a scooter. I know they aren't guarenteed. But any information is appreciated as always!!

Thanks!

ask for a bulding near the main pool. call a few days before you leave and explain the situation with your dad. shouldn't be a problem. then remind them at the check in counter. Have fun!

Old Key West is of course the first DVC Member Resort. This means that most of the people that stay there are DVC members and have been so from the beginning so they know the system.

This means two things:

1) Check in as early as possible. Special requests tend to be first come first serve, by 3-4 pm it can be real tough getting what you want.

2) Rooms are not gaurenteed until 4pm, so when you do check in early, be ready to either hit the pool, hit the parks, or if you have ever entertained the idea of Disney Vacation Club then schedule an Open House at the desk there in the lobby. If you've made seven trips to WDW and like staying on property you should at least look into it.

Hi there,

I actually did join last year and bought into Saratoga Springs. I know that when I stayed there I asked for a room in the front area when I checked in and ended up on the complete other side of the resort. So I just wanted to know if there was a special building number or section that was up front in OKW to hopefully prevent this from happening again.

Thanks!!

Cool.... always great see another member!

For OKW the key is to get there early. The Front Desk CMs are great about showing you the map and telling you what rooms are left and where they are. They will assign the room with you, but again your room may not be ready until 4pm.

You're gonna have a great trip!
