Taking family trip in summer and wondered about whether it's worth it to pay the extra money for OKW in your opinions. Thanks! :p

It really depends on how many people are going, what room type you would get at OKW, and how much time you spend in the room.

If you are going for a studio at OKW, the room is slightly bigger than CB. You do have the added bonus of the kitchenette with microwave, fridge, and sink. The downside is the second bed is a pull out.

If you go for the larger villas at OKW, you have a massive bathroom with jacuzzi tub, full kitchen with all the plates, pots n pans etc, plus a washer and dryer. They also have a living room with a pull out bed and a king bed in the bedroom.

Personally, I love to stay at the Vacation Club resorts. The extra space is worth the extra money. Being able to dry wet bathing suits and clothes is also a big "plus."

You are looking at a substantial rate increase going to OKW, so you have to look at where the value is between each resort. Everyone has different needs. Some people would rather spend the money on location, or being on the monorail. For me, I like the added space and comfort of the villas over anything.

Tampabrad said it best. It depends on what your need is.

We stay at OKW every time and love it. I have 2 little boys, and usually travel with extended family, too. The extra space is very much appreciated.

Is this something new? When it was just the two of us we always stayed in an OKW studio and always had 2 queens. However, we havn't stayed in an OKW studio for a few years now.

Also keep the option of upgrading open. We did that on our last trip, starting at Pop and moving to POR. If you are packing the first couple of days in the big parks, the room isn;'t as important. If you have a day off, Disney will move your luggage, and you can go check in at OKW after bumming around Downtown Disney or somewhere. That way, you save a bit but still get to enjoy the upper level resort.

OKW does have 2 Queens....

You can also save tons of money by purchasing Disney Vacation Club points from DVC members. You can find them on Ebay or contact me... I know a person. You save mega bucks.
