OKW or SS

Planning a 7 day trip in 2010. Can't decide between 2 bed villa at Old Key west or Saratoga Springs. I also note that the new Tree House Villas are the same price. Any one have thoughts?

Leaning toward OKW for the extras square footage as we aren't too concerned with it being a little older.

Any advice about bus transport? how does it compaire to the Magic Kingdome Deluxe resorts?

We will not have a car and I understand these resorts are a bit spread out. Any advice on what to request to ensure that we get a little closer to Hospitality, Pool and Bus?

Thanks All!

Never stayed at OKW, but recently stayed at SSR in a 1 bedroom and it was absolutely gorgeous! Would stay there again in a heartbeat! If you could, I'd suggest getting a room by the main pool. A friend of ours recenly swapped into SSR and was able to request a view of DTD. She said she loved being able to sit on her balcony at night and everything going on over there. She also had stayed at OKW recently and said she wasn't very impressed with how rundown it looks now.

We've stayed at SSR twice with both having a view of DTD and its really nice. The resort is newer but a bit smaller than OKW. The buses seem to take longer than OKW.

But for the points I'd stay in a tree house hands down. It looks great and we're planning our 2011 trip there. You get three bedrooms for the price of two, you can't beat that price.

I prefer the tropical, jungle-like atmosphere of OKW over Saratoga's manicured gardens. But you won't go wrong either way.
If you do stay at OKW, being near the Hospitality House is very much preferable.

Thanks for the responses.

I am getting more interested in the Tree house villas but they seem very far away from the main buildings. As we won't have a car I am concerned about the distance from the main Pool/Bar and hospitality stuff. Or will there be a pool with a bar near the Tree houses?

I could not have stated it any better. My fealings exactly.

One comment on the DTD view of SSR. You cant really see a whole lot of whats going on over there. You can see the buildings all lit up and see that there are people milling around, but outside of that, you wont see a whole heck of alot. It is a pretty view though.

The Treehouse Villas have their own unthemed pool but no concessions. One of the negative issues I've heard about with the Treehouse Villas is that you have to take a bus from there back to a SSR bus stop, then wait for your theme park bus. So it takes two busses to get anywhere. Kind of a pain when you don't have your own car. I believe they have a boat dock for trips to DTD.

When we have stayed at SSR, we request a room in the Springs section. It's close to the pool and main building.

If staying at OKW request a room away from the main road through the resort. Ours was just a few feet from it and we heard every bus, car and golf cart that passed by.
