Ohana's 9:30 pm reservations?

We started making our reservations for our April trip yesterday and our favorite place to eat Ohana's only had tables available for 9:30pm. Of course I took it not wanting to miss our favorite resturant this trip. Last time we were in Disney was 2006 and we had a 6:00 pm reservation. I noticed they close at 10pm so I'm worried! Are we going to be rushed? Do you miss out on the atmosphere by coming to the last table of the night? Some people in reviews have stated they arrived an hour earlier and got seated earlier than their reservations so I think that's an option as well but can anyone tell me if they have had good experience doing that? We are going during spring break so I know it's going to be packed !

If you are going the first week of April (Easter week) than no, showing up an hour earlier probably won't get you seated earlier. 'Ohana pretty much books up at 180 days during busy periods. However, continue to check for earlier availability as often as you can, since people cancel all the time. You may have your best luck the day before your ADR as people cancel to avoid the $10/person no-show fee.

If you end up with your 9:30 pm ADR, no you will not be rushed. Food will be hot and plentiful and you may get to see Wishes while you eat, if the fireworks are at 10 pm.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
We always have late reservations after 9pm at Ohana' and other restaurants on property as we prefer to eat late. They will not be rushing you at all and frankly they wouldn't let you make ressies that late if they would alter your dining experience. We have left around 11pm or after and there is usually still lots of people there even after we leave. Also we usually don't even get seated right away(usually wait 15-30 min after our time) because it is still so busy even on weeknights! You will be fine. Disney restaurants do not operate like real world restaurants in the same situations because they want you to enjoy yourselves and have magical experiences! :):)

Thank you so much! I know we should have made reservations earlier but we just decided the day before to go and we had the best experience last time especially our kids. Then they were so much younger and still they remember those coconut races !

I was worried about this last year and it was not an issue at all for us. Had a reservation for 9, still a good amount of people there but we were seated a little before 9:30. No rush at all with our waitress, food was hot and fresh nothing to worry about. Enjoy it for me while your there:)

We love 'Ohana too! There's never a guarantee that showing up early will get you seated early, but with an atmosphere like the Polynesian, showing up early can be fun. Just walking around the resort (as long as someone stays within the buzzer range), taking pictures & checking out the gift shops passes the time. If you get seated early, bonus. If not, you'll have no problem with your reservation time. They will serve well past that! :)

I agree...also passing by Kona Cafe's sushi really makes me want to go right up to the bar and get myself a roll before dinner.;)

Thanks for everyone's advice! I called customer service again today and they had a cancellation. The reservation is now set for 5:05 which is about an hour earlier than we would like it but I think it's better than eating around 10 pm. We have one child who is very active but once the clock strikes 9ish she doesn't function lol. She will be able to enjoy dinner better at this earlier time. If we need to we can always snack before bed if we are out late.

I actually wouldn't mind having a reservation at that time. If I was in your shoes you may or may not get seated right away it all depends but, depending how late you're there is recommend staying and watching wishes. The music is fed through the restaurant and outside the resort so it makes for a very unique experience.

I had the same problem last night. We decided not to take it as it's just too late for us. We hope to continue to call and get a reservation, but I'll be sad for not going back.

Wishes is at 11 pm that night but yes I wish it has been at 10.

Hello,

I wanted to ask a question similar to this.
'Ohana is definitively packed this next week and I cant find any space for reservations in any time area.
Is it possible to show and get seated or does a lot of waiting happen? do they reserve 100% of the space? or there is space left?

note that I'm deaf and I do not know if I can ask someone to call and see if I can get a reservation.

Hi @Cesar R M,
Your only chance of getting seated if you show up without a reservation is if you arrive shortly before the restaurant opens, between 4:30-4:45 pm. There will already be a line at the check-in desk, but get in the line and ask. We have had success with this. If you wait until later, you will most likely be turned away.

When 'Ohana was one of our favorite places, our only disappointing meal came when we had a late dinner reservation. The entertainment wasn't there, and the food didn't taste fresh.....it was as if it had been sitting around for hours waiting to be given to late diners. Now that they've done away with offering chicken on the skewers, there's no longer anything there for me. But anyway, you definitely do NOT want late dining there.
