Do you think it could have something to do with the kind of reservation you have? I have DVC and I do not link it with my experience... But I wonder if I booked online with My CC, I wonder if then they may not ask for you CC for a dining reservation... wonder??? any thoughts?

I booked the room-only reservation on a bounce back offer, so spoke directly with a cast member. When I made my original ADRs, it was on the old dining site. The Plaza and Rose and Crown were recent additions. However, all my reservations are linked on the My Disney Experience, so maybe you are right, it has to do with the link.

Plaza and R&C do not require a CC to hold your ADR. Character meals, signatures, special dining experiences and high demand meals will require a credit card to hold the ADR. This was instituted in October 2011 - mainly b/c of all of the now shows/lack of cancelations from all of the people who double (or more) book b/c they can't make up their mind. They will charge you $10pp to that card if you don't show for your ADR (you may even get charged if you're late- so you need to watch your card and fight it if need be). You usually need to cxl at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot attend the meal. They will not charge you if your entire party does not show- i.e. if you're a party of 8 but only 5 show.

I was shocked as to how many restaurants now require a CC to reserve. It's sad Disney had to do that for the "more expensive" restaurants.:( Although signature restaurants don't require a CC reserve ( I think?). I know for 'Ohana dinner and breakfast we had to put CC in. Also any dinner shows like SOA or HDD.
I wouldn't be surprised if in the future ALL reservations ask for a CC reserve!

Yeah...Im getting the feeling this is part of the online system. I love that they did away with the double adrs. I found it really frustrating when people made multiple adrs for the same time and date at 3 or 4 different places.
I dont mind them taking my card and Im not too upset If they want to bill me $10 for missing my adr as long as it cuts back on people grabbing up every decent reservation with No intention of using them.

They still do, just under multiple accounts and credit cards. It's sad, but people will always find away to be crappy.

Must be a new change. Made ADRs for The Plaza and Rose and Crown a couple weeks ago and didn't need my cc.
I just made ADR's for Rosé & Crown, Teppan Edo, and San Angel and they did NOT require credit card info. All of the restaurants don't require CC info. It's only the the very popular ones, like CRT, Ohana, all the character meals and dinner shows. I'm glad that they do charge this now, I'm sure it has cut down on a lot of selfish people taking up unused ADR's, making more room for others.
