'Ohana

K, my trip is 15 days away. I figured I had everything already set. But I went through my plans again anyways. And I wonder if I should add a meal at 'Ohana at Polynesian. I'm not sure I really want to, but everyone keeps raving on and on about it.

I already have 4 priority seatings, anymore might lessen my ability to "wing it" and have an adventure. I'm also staying at All Star Movies, which means it's kind of out of the way for me. And I just took a look at the menu.. I'm not sure I can eat all that, I might not be able to do anything else for the rest of the day! But everyone keeps raving about it... so is it worth it to go make the time to go to 'Ohana? Should I add it to my plans?

Hmm.. I loved Ohana's but I wouldn't go there for lunch or such. They are open so late you could make priority seating to go there after you spend the day at one of the parts... say AK .. then you could do Ohana's and watch the fireworks at the MK while eating :-D. I really enjoyed it ... but that's just me. *hugs* Whatever you decide... HAVE FUN!

Hey....Just think Vince!

If you don't force it in there this time, you'll have a reason to go back again!

Next time it can be at the TOP of your list! I'm like you in that I like lots of "breathing room" in my schedule.

Don't squeeze it in "just for the sake of squeezing it in". That would lessen the real experience for you!

I say enjoy the 4 you have and make Ohana your reason to go back! It will still be there!!!

HAVE FUN!

:sohappy:

BY THE WAY......what 4 PS do you already have?

Cinderella's Royal Table and Chef Mickey's for Breakfast and Crystal Palace and the Coral Reef for Dinner. That enough for an 8 day trip? I figured I would just wing it with the rest of the meals.

Remember, you can always cancel a PS ressie. I say pick the day/time you are most likely to go and make the ressie. But wing it -- if you decide not to go, just give dining a call and cancel.

I'd say go for it. The food is great and you can eat as much (or as little) as you want. we really enjoyed it. And we did it on the spur of the moment.( made ps that morning)

I've never eaten at Ohana's but I figure i'll put my two cents in. My brother and his wife were recently up at WDW for one day. They were taking my niece and nephew to Blizzard Beach for my niece's birthday. (they live in miami so an easy 3 1/2 hour trip). Anyway, they were planning on meeting several friends who were at WDW vacationing that week with their families. I told them all about Ohana and the rave reviews coming from this site and WDWig.com. and how it sounds like a great place for both adults and kids. So they made their PS as did everyone else. I think they ended up being a group of about 15. The next day I get a call.....THEY LOVED IT! Not only did they think the food was great, but the service was outstanding. All their friends fell in love with the place and planned to return again before leaving WDW. Also, my 11 year old niece kept thanking me for recommending the place and told me all about the coconut races and the different stuff they had for kids to do.

Now on a side note, I recommended this place to a couple who were vacationing at the GF for a week with their 3 yr. old daughter. They on the other hand didn't think it was that great.

Frankly, I trust my brother and his wife's opinion. Like me they can go from California Grill/Narcosees to the Columbia Harbour house/El Pirata y El Perico without flinching and thoroughly enjoying both. My friends on the other hand, think they have good taste. All i know is next time at WDW i'm hitting Ohanas.

No questions about it.... EAT AT OHANA!!!! We ate there last October and it was awesome. Atmosphere and all. Back in May we stopped in on the Tambu Lounge and had an afternoon drink and some teryaki wings. The best ever!!!:slurp: :slurp: :slurp:

Be sure to try the pineapple with caramel sauce at the end.:D

Okay, you all, please don't hate me when I say this...

I went to 'Ohana's while I was at Disney on my honeymoon/vacation. Man, you wouldn't believe how much I was looking forward to going to eat at 'Ohana's. But, I was quite disappointed. It is not that the food wasn't good. It's just the fact that I really didn't care too much for the Polynesian style/taste of food. I am very glad I gave it a try because it is something that everyone must see, but I am just your plain old "All-American hamburger" type of guy. Although, the grilled turkey was pretty good. Please don't get me wrong, I am not bashing 'Ohana's. I am just saying their style of food is a little too much for my "plain-jane" taste buds!

I couldn't have said it better myself!

My husband and I love it and we never miss it. But if you're concerened about to much scheduling, then I would agree with tiggerlover1971 and see what happens when you get there. Go with the flow. You have to have dinner somewhere and you just may find an evening where it will work for you.
