Ohana or Marrakesh (Moroco)?

Please help me decide! The menu actually looks better to me at Marrakesh. We would like to try something different since we live in a little town in Wisconsin! My daugher(5) likes the idea of the belly dancer, since she herself loves to dance, but she also loves the idea of the Polynesian atmosphere, and I thought I read that they teach hula lessons (is that hula hoop,or hula dancing?). Here are the other restaurants we have chosen for our stay in December: Le Cellier, Mama Melrose (FDP), 1900 Park Fare(dinner), and Boma. We really want to try the Morocan food, maybe do the counter service there for lunch and Ohana for a dinner? Any help out there?!

We love Marrakesh for lunch! They usually have a Chef's Special running that is less than the cost of the entee if ordered alone! They have music and the belly dancer at lunch also, so your daughter can still belly dance.

'Ohana is a very nice place, but totally different in atmosphere and food. The kids do coconut races and hula dancing, but when we went we were on the opposite side of the room and it was hard to participate.

Why not have lunch at Marrakesh (not the counter service) one day and dinner at 'Ohana another?

We also did Mama Melrose for the FDP and enjoyed it very much.

Thanks so much for your reply!! I think we will do just what you suggested! Is there a certain area we should request a table at both places?

Try to get on the main floor or just off in Marrakesh so you can see the dancer. Try to get a MK window view in 'Ohana if you go later so you can see the fireworks.

I would seriously not recommend the counter service at Morroco. It is a poor cousin of what you would get at Marakesh and tends to be a watered-down version (americanized version?) of a typical middle eastern/mediterranean cuisine.

Between the two, I would choose Marakesh hands down. The food is plentyful and delicious, and as you've said, it isn't something very common to most folks. I'm lucky here in Chicago because we have a very good Morocan restaurant just 3 blocks away and can get our fix often. Even then, we still go to Marakesh at least once on every trip out to WDW.

I have been to Marakesh and loved it! But, I now have 1 very picky DS and we went to O'Hana's last trip. The kids had a great time doing the coconut races and hula lessons, and the food was awesome. My picky eater was able to order a grilled cheese w/ fries there.

Maybe when he expands his tastes I can go back to marakesh......

In O'Hana, make sure you sit in the main dining area to see al the action, and the view of the castle is incredible.
