99.999% positive they're only in the sauce, which won't even be poured on till they bring it to your table. I've made the All Ears version of the 'Ohana bread pudding, and I think that's a VERY close copy of the real thing. The banana slices are added in to the sauce as the last step, they don't appear anywhere else in the recipe. You can probably just ask them to leave the bananas out. It's such an awesome dessert, hope you both get to enjoy a banana-free version!Maybe you can get the sauce w/o them adding bananas. I didn't think there were bananas in the bread pudding, only in the sauce. Can someone verify this? (I just ate it recently too but I don't recall)
Was never a fan of bread pudding, but this was wonderful. Honestly cannot recall there being any bananas in the bread or sauce even though i'm sure it was there. We have done Ohana our last 2 visits and we're doing it again on our upcoming trip. The dessert is part of the reason its now a must do ADR.
LOL I love the desert but by the time they bring it out - I am a fat pig and never can eat all of it. The portions are huge With that said, yes - they can bring out plain ice cream and I think they also have equal deserts. Be sure to let your service know once you are seated.
By the time dessert arrives, I am usually ready for a nap!!! My husband loves the bread pudding (I can't eat it) and always manages some extra room for it since it is so fabulous. I definitely recommend trying it once (even without the sauce) and if you don't like it, ask your waiter for something else.
Really looking forward to dinner at Ohana. This will be our first visit. However, my wife is not thrilled about the dessert. (she doesn't eat bananas) Would they provide an alternative if we asked, or is she out of luck?
