Hi All!

I have been a member of these forums for 7 years (and I actually think that I was a member under a different name before that!), but not a super-frequent commenter. Mainly reading but chiming in once in a while.

Well. My last trip was in summer 2011, and SO MUCH has changed in there. It was pre-FLE, pre-magic bands, and pre-...well, I don't even know what else. So here's the deal. I NEED HELP! I am going back July 20, 2014 for my honeymoon :inlove: and I am no longer the pro that I once was. And man, I was a pro....

So please help. What has changed, what should I know, what should I look out for?
Are there any deals, any discounts, any pins? Free dining?

And also, anything I should do differently because it will be my honeymoon? :inlove::inlove::inlove: <---just got engaged a week and 2 days ago, so I'm still up in the clouds.

Thank you all! I know in advance that I can count on you!

Congrats on your engagement. What a wonderful plan for a honeymoon. I'm not much help, we traveled last year and are going again next week but I'm sure the forums will be of great help.

Is there a particular resort you are looking into? I think POFQ looks really romantic if you are looking on the moderate level. Carriage rides at WL or POFQ would be a nice honeymoon activity.

I believe there is a current promotion going on now. Check out the Disney site or mousesavers.com.

Best of luck with your planning.

trying to think of the biggest changes since you have been there

first, make sure you create an MDE account to control your trip, customize your magic bands, and plan FP+. you can also make dining reservations here

you will want to buy your tickets before arriving at the parks because you cannot do most of the things i just mentioned without ticket media attached to your account

make sure you make fp+ reservations 60 days out- you can always adjust them later, but some of the good ones (read as- Toy Story) go fast

consider dinner at Be Our Guest, can be noisy during the day, but night time is quiter and the atmosphere is quite romantic
if you want Be Our Guest, be sure to be up at 6 AM on the day you can book reservations 180 days out, also, be prepared for the first couple of days of your trip to be filled, so try to plan it for later in your trip (remember onsite guests have had a 10 day window to pick off those dining reservations before you get to them).
consider a romantic late evening dinner at California Grill to watch the fireworks

plan a little longer to explore FLE in your daily schedule, you will want to walk around and look at things

there are charging stations in multiple locations in the park for your electronics now

oh, and...........CONGRATULATIONS.

Congratulations on your engagement!!

I agree about setting up your My Disney Experience account as soon as you can, that way you have time to get familiar with it, though we found CM's to be very helpful if we had questions.
I was concerned about the issue of tickets and making FP+ reservations, but we booked a package so the tickets were included, and when I linked our reservation to my MDE account, the tickets showed up too, so I had no problem with FP+. One thing I wish I had done, was make my FP+ reservations earlier (ie, closer to 60 days out when the window opened). I was still able to get most of what we wanted at a time that worked (it wasn't a busier time of year), but if I had done it earlier, I think I could have gotten times that we would have liked better. It can be hard to plan "when you want to be where", months in advance, but at least you would have some during a busy time of year -and you can always change them.

Congratulations again! What a great place for a honeymoon!!
