We're going for my 18th birthday in June .. hopefully and we're looking to stay offsite generally to save money so we can spend more on goods and birthday presents haha.We usually stay in the wynfield inn but that has since closed down and we don't know where else we could stay. I looked at the metropolitan express hotel which had good reviews on trip advisor before but now they have some negative ones.

Has anyone stayed here before? Is it good? Or does anyone have any decent recommendations of where we could stay on I-Drive?

Everytime we go to Disney we seem to stay in a different hotel because we can never find one that's quite right.
But last year, we went for what was called at the time, Quality Inn Plaza down next to Pointe Orlando and were happy with it, so much so that we are returning there this May. Its pretty basic but ideal if only for somewhere to sleep. It had just undergone a major refurb at the time. I think its now called Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando.

I've just written this elsewhere so sorry for repeating.

Doubletree by Hilton at seaworld was ideal for us. We were a party of six including one teenager and one toddle. the hotel had a free shuttle to universal and WDW and is walking distance to seaworld (2 mins) and aqautica (10 mins). Shops opposite, i-trolley stops right outside.

Hotel was lovely. Clean, tidy and all the ameneties you could want. Staff always v pleasant. I think it was refurbed about 4 years ago when it was the International plaza resprt and spa.

20 mins from orlando international airport ($35 for a taxi) so not long to get there from when you land.

Theres a village Inn opposite (cheap but delicious food, esp breakfast), a subway, flippers pizza, off licence, petrol station, shop, italian restaurant etc so very handy when you get back to hotel and want a quick easy bite.

We also got a free english newspaper which kept the men in the group happy checking football results.

We're hoping to stop again in 2012 making it our 4th visit to this hotel.

IF YOU WANT TO SAVE MONEY, STITCHAHOLIC MENTIONED POINTE ORLANDO QUALITY INN, ANOTHER YOU MAY ALSO TRY IS QUALITY INN INTERNATIONAL(BASICALLY ON THE CORNER OF SAND LAKE AND INTERNATIONAL DRIVE BESIDE MCDONLDS) IF YOU WANT TRY TO DO A PRICELINE F/H/C SEARCH USE QUALITY INN HOTEL FILTER, BUT ON EXPEDIA ON THE LEFT UNDER YOUR DATES TYPE IN 'ROSEN' IN THE HOTEL NAME LINE. THIS WILL BRING UP ALL THE ROSEN PROPERTIES AROUND ORLANDO. QUALITY INN INTERNTIONAL IS THE CHEAPEST I HAVE FOUND AND WILL BE USING THIS HOTEL IN DECEMBER 2012. 'ALL' ROSEN PROPERTIES HAVE JUST GONE THROUGH A MULTI-MILLION DOALLAR REHAB WITH ALL NEW BEDDING, CARPETTING, ETC. SO CHECK IT OUT!

I have stayed at the Metropolitan Express on the I-Drive for a ceonvention. It was in November of 2007. The hotel is a very nice hotel for the price. It is a clean place. I was afraid it would be dirty or in a bad section when I saw the price.

They offer a free continental breakfast that serves coffee, juices, milk, cereal, muffins, toast, fruits, and yogurt. The staff was very friendly.

I do not know if they offer shuttle service to any parks though, but they are on the I-drive trolley stop which takes you to all the restaurants and activites on Interntaional drive.

Last time I stayed at the 4 Points on Intertational drive. It was nice, and offered a free shuttle to the Disney and Universal parks. The did not offer a free breakfast tough.
