Any suggestions where we could stay with kids ages 2 and 5. We are considering onsite but the size of the small room might make sleeping very difficult.

I'm a big fan of the Holiday Inn Vacation Club at Orange Lake. It shares a border with Walt Disney World at US 192 and the Western Beltway, but the roads are not so direct. They'll try to sell you a time share, but they have never pestered me about declining to attend a presentation. You could possibly even get a two bedroom unit for less or comparable than on site. The unit should also have living room and full kitchen. They have smaller, more traditional hotel rooms that are still bigger than Disney's Moderate and Value Rooms
