The Outback is great - its in Formosa Gardens, (also there is a small Chinese restaurant just a few doors down - that's great too!) If you go in the evening call ahead, and you will wait 10 minutes instead of an hour! The food is really good - I usually eat chicken or fish, but I had a small steak there and it was fantastic. I have a fussy 9 year old, and there was plenty of choice on the kids menu for her. They do a huge battered onion as a starter, with a horseradish dip, but they did a honey mustard dip for me as I don't like horseradish. You MUST try the onion!

We soon learnt that it gets very busy. The first time we went, there was a wait of about an hour, and our 2 hungry dds couldn't wait that long! We walked a few doors down and there was a Japanese restaurant and a very small Chinese restaurant. We tried the Chinese and it was really good. They did plain chicken nuggets for our little fusspot, and they were not really nuggets but proper chicken in batter. She loved them! Our 5 year old who tries everything just ate the Chinese food with us! The food was so good we went back another night for a takeaway.

Another day we called in to the Outback on the way to the park, and made a reservation for the evening - it worked out much easier.

Can't remember the exact directions for the Outback - I think you turn off the 192 at the red lobster and keep going - perhaps someone else can confirm this? Otherwise see if they have a website with directions.

Offsite -- Boston Lobster Feast, on Hwy. 192 in Kissimmee. It's a substantial American seafood buffet, and there are plenty of "chicken nugget dishes" for picky little eaters. It's a very easy drive from Disney World, especially if you're staying in the Pop Century area.

Onsite -- Cape May at The Beach Club Resort. Again, an outstanding seafood buffet, based on a New England-style clambake, with a great kid's selection, as well...chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, etc...

And for a fun start to the morning, take your little one to a breakfast at Whispering Canyon in the Wilderness Lodge resort.

All the above are "must-do's" each time we go to Disney World. Have fun!

Not sure how "off-site" you wanted to go, but don't forget the Downtown Disney Restaurants!

I like Portobello's and House of Blues, but Bongo's and Fulton's are good, too, depending on what you're in the mood for!

The 7-year old might like looking around Planet Hollywood or the Rainforest Cafe, but there is noting special about their food.

Also, the Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant gets pretty good reviews too!

Lots to choose from, including a McDonald's!

I love eating at Bahama Breeze. It is located about 15 minutes from property. The portions are large for the price, and they have some of the best Carribean food I have ever eaten.

Chevy's is also a good Mexican place in the Crossroads shopping center which is right by Downtown Disney, just across the main highway from all of the DTD resorts like the Hilton, etc

I too recommend Chevy's for tex-mex food... I'm a local and eat Chevy's about once a month... in fact, I may go eat there tonight!

We used to have a Chevy's here, but it closed. I didn't realize there were still some around. I loved their food! Have to look for it in February.
