Hi,

A friend texted me today that he was watching Off Kilter in Epcot today and he was wondering why there were not any bagpipes in show. Is the piper (Jamie?) on vacation? Please tell me he didn't leave!!!

thanks,

Kevin and Mona

I'm not sure what they've done to Off Kilter, but as usual...Disney has taken something wonderful and tweaked it into something good. Why they must screw around with things and make them worse, I don't know.

Off Kilter used to be one of the two best things in the World Showcase.

I still have my little bitty crush on Jamie. :)

How has Disney "done" anything to this show? I've seen Off Kilter perform both with and without the bagpipes throughout the years. Again, any number of reasons why he wasn't there on one particular day, none of which has anything to do with Disney.

What part of the experience have they tweaked to decrease your enjoyment? To keep the show fresh the stage and costumes have been updated along with new songs being added to the traditional classics. During summer months Off Kilter performs daily, with band members rotating what days they perform. Jamie is still most definitely part of Off Kilter.

I usually see them once or twice s month and I haven't seen Jamie play in a few months. I just assumed he was on vacation but now it makes me wonder if he took a leave of absence? I just don't see off kilter continuing to play without Jamie since he was the founding member. And isn't it true that the violinist is now a regular player even when Jamie is there? Because the keyboardist retired?

Jamie hasn't gone anywhere. He may have the day off or just on vacation. The fiddle player is a regular now that Tony (keys) is gone. I always ended up missing Jamie's set too but it's just bad timing. I talked to Randy's (guitar) wife today so I can meet with her on my upcoming trip and told her to give me Jamie's schedule for the time I'm there so I can make sure to catch his set and chat with him afterwards. She said she will ask Randy what his schedule is for the day her and I plan on hanging out at Epcot so he's definitely still there.

Panic attack over! Just ask the guys in the band after one of their sets if they can tell you when Jamie's next set is. I'm sure they will let you know his schedule if he's not on vacation or anything.

Thanks for the updates tigger!! I just hate that I always happen to miss Jamie haha but it's okay because I LOVE mark!! But I asked him the other month if I could hear Alive or if they still play it, he said they wouldn't be able to play it their next set because it was a different tune. Tigger, would you happen to know which set do they usually play Alive? That's my favorite song by then and I haven't heard it played live in over 6+ months now and I usually see them once or twice a month.

Also do you know what the new song they usually play in their last set is? I can't understand Mark's accent, I think he says aaronshore? It is an instrumental song

Enjoy Off Kilter immensely. Always putting in one of their CD's to get a touch of Epcot in my day. Glad to hear nothing has caused the disappearance of the bagpipes. Just not satisfying enough without the bagpipes making their way into the set of songs.

Sorry I don't know their recent sets well enough but I will try to figure it out when I go there in 2 weeks. It's possible he's saying a Gaelic name as well which may be why you don't understand it.

Here's Jamie's new solo act.

New to Forum. Any info on bagpiper Jamie Holton of Off Kilter. Missed him during Food and Wine in October. Worried he is leaving. Off Kilter not the same when not there, nor is Epcot!!!
