Does anyone know if this official opening can be attended by the general public? I will at WDW during that time. Also, will the attraction be open before that date?

Yes Space will be open before, and no the public cannot attend, you must be out of Epcot at 3

closing

It closes at 3:00 so that the "important" people can enjoy the opening. The Big Disney Executives will be in the park at that time.

NO general public will be allowed into the park at that time. I just wonder if they're going to do Illuminations like normal for the executives. None of us will be able to go though. What sux is, not only will you not be able to go to Epcot, expect MK and MGM to get more crowded because of it.

It won't be too bad. You are talking about a weekday in an off season. Trust me, if it was the busy season they wouldn't close Epcot at 3. They chose that day carefully when they know a lot of people won't be in the "world"

but

you're right, but, Disney is not a "true" "seasonal" resort. It is known as a year round resort. Granted it will be slower, but, let's look at it like this. Most of the people that would be in the park that day will be in MK and the majority of the rest in MGM Studios, and some in AK. Even on a slow day, if you remove almost everyone from Epcot and put them in MK, you will notice the difference on Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and being that BTMRR is closed you will feel it even more.

Im not saying that MK will be slammed but it will be noticeably different than the day before.

You're right though, it's not going to be all that bad, just noticeably busier than before.
