October/November 2012

Hey guys, I have never been to the world during these months and I'm trying to plan our next vacation. We were there this past January and we were able to see some of the Christmas decorations still up, but by the end of our trip they were all down. I would really like to see all of the parks decorated, but it doesn't have to be this trip. I was wondering which month you guys prefer going in, October or November, and if there are ever deals, either room discount or dining during these months. I would like to go for 10 days, and we usually stay at Pop, it might be nice to try the AA resort depending on which sections are open (there are only 2 of us so we don't need a family suite). I was also wondering about the delux dining plan, we usually do the regular plan, but I would really like to eat at some of the signiture resturants this trip so I think this would be a good idea. Any suggestions are welcome!!!!

I've almost always done my trips in October and love the time of year! I have also visited in February, July and September and I would say October is my personal favourite time to go. The parks are usually quiet and we find that there are very short wait times (maybe with the exception of TSM and EPCOT attractions due to the food and wine festival). The weather is usually perfect too, not overly hot and muggy but still hot enough for what you want when youre on holiday (being from the UK anyway!). We visited once over the 4th July and would never dream of it again as the crowds and the heat were horrendous compared to what we are used to!

I'm visiting this year from 27th Oct for two weeks and its the first time our trip will spill over into november. we have the free dining plan, just sticking with CS though as its my partners first trip and we think this will give us more time to fit everything in. So if it's the same in 2012 you should be ok to get the dining deals. You may get some of the xmas decorations depending how late in November you go, I know that the Osbourne lights at DHS start quite early. But if you're there in October you will see MK dressed up for Halloween!

Thanks for the reply! When we were there a few years ago at the end of August, we saw the MK start getting decorated for Halloween. I thought the Halloween decorations were nice, but I am a HUGE Christmas person so I think I'm leaning more towards November. I'm also trying to figure out what rides/attractions are closed during this time period for seasonal rehab. When we were there in January SM, my favorite ride, was closed so I'm trying to avoid any of our favorites being down during our next vacation.

We went last year and are first day was at MK on thanksgiving day, this was the busiest we experienced the parks but still did alot with the use of FP. We avoided the parks at weekends and everything was more or less a walk on or short wait the rest of the 2 weeks. Most of the decorations were up but MK tree was only up on one of are last days. It was a lovely time of year to go and we also did the Christmas party. The only problem was it was freezing in the second week! But apparently this was abnormal and even made the news back here in the uk, So take lots of layers just in case! we are looking at going in oct this year so I hope it's a bit warmer? does anyone know how the parks compare at the end of oct? Many thanks

wanting to piggy back this one. Planning sept/oct 2012 and will be taking a boat load of people. Ive got an idea about crowd sizes but am wondering about costs. As I recall they put out the rates in August, right? If so, when are they set to announce?:veryconfu

We like to go the week before Thanksgiving, Crowds start coming in the week-end before the holiday and build to the holiday. the week before is very low crowds and the Christmas decorations are up and Mickey's Christmas party has started. The weather is perfect, mid to upper 70's and a little cooler at night. Have a great time when ever you decide to go!! There is usually no seasonal closings at that time. Have got free dinning a couple of times.

Osborne Lights are starting this year on 11/10 and MVMCP starts that weekend as well. I've heard rumors that Halloween night they take all the Halloween decorations down and begin transforming it into Christmas. We're hoping when we arrive (11/10-15) that most of the Christmas stuff will be up..
