Hi,
I'm new here and planning my a trip to Disney world this fall for my wife and I. We went last year early dec and loved it! I have a conference in Atlanta Nov 6-7, trying to decide to do Disney world before or after my conference. If we did after conference we can get Christmas decorations and MVMCP which we loved last year and if we go before my conference we can do the Mickie's Halloween party. How is Halloween at the world? We are more into the Christmas decorations then Halloween. Any advice and recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Does anybody in WDWMagic land know when the Christmas Decor goes up this year? Just wondering if you go on the 10-28 to 11-3 trip if you would be able to hit both? If so, that would be when I would go.

Welcome to the boards!!

Both MNSSHP and MVMCP are loads of fun, but the parks (and resorts) tend to be much more festive during the Christmas season than for Halloween. Either way you'll be hitting Food & Wine which is a plus.

The Christmas decorations won't be completely up (it's a gradual process throughout November), but it'll still be pretty festive. The trees at the parks won't be there yet, but you will be able to see the Osborne lights. This post from an old thread shows you what it looked like mid-November in 2012, just as an example.

I'm always up for something new, so I would probably go for Halloween. But it depends on how much you prefer Christmas deco to Halloween festivities. That being said, I think I would rather end a business trip with Disney instead of start it with Disney, but that's just me.

I agree with ending a business trip with Disney rather then other way around. I believe MVMCP starts early November. The prices are much better late October then November.

Is there a chance any of the christmas decor will be up the first week of November?
The Osborne Lights open on November 6, so DHS will be decorated that day (usually park decorating is done overnight so it may not be earlier than that.) The first MVMCP is November 8, so MK will be done that Sunday. Can't say whether Epcot and AK will be decorated the first week. None of the resorts will; decorating begins mid to late November.
