I am now planning my trip for Oct. 21-26 2013, due to days off of school. Is the mickey halloween party worth adding? Trying to watch my budget, it will be me and my 10 year old son. I wasnt going to add the hopper pass, do you think that is a mistake, or a good way to save some money.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
We often go to more than one park in a day so for us the Hopper is worth it. Some parks like Animal Kingdom close at 5 or 6 so esp days like those you may want to head to another park after that for the evening to make the most of you days while there. Also say you want to eat somewhere in another park, you would need the hopper to go if its in another park that day or night.
Also the Halloween party is really cool If you can afford it.
If you can swing it I would definately buy the Hopper and if money is left over I would do MNSSHP. :)

I think it depends on how you want to see the parks. If you buy the hopper, you're probably going to feel compelled to visit multiple parks every day. Is that going to be too much? If you don't want to be in the parks sun-up to sun-down, I would just buy a 1-park-per-day ticket. Maybe skip the park hopper, plan which parks you want to visit on what days, and use the saved money towards MNSSHP.

If you bought the Halloween party ticket, it's a stand alone ticket meaning you don't already need MK park admission and you can gain entry to MK after 4:00pm. What I might do if only having a 1 park/day ticket would be AK from rope drop until after lunch or so, then a little break and then head over to MK for the Halloween party around 4-5pm.
