Pardoned turkey heads to Disneyland By Leah Zanolla

Continuing a 20-year tradition, President Obama pardoned a turkey from becoming a Thanksgiving meal and sent it to Disneyland instead. In a Rose Garden ceremony today in front of news reporters and his daughters, the President announced, "Now, today I'm pleased to announce that, thanks to the interventions of Malia and Sasha -- because I was planning to eat this sucker -- Courage will also be spared this terrible and delicious fate." Courage is a 45-pound turkey from the Worley Family Farm in North Carolina.
After the ceremony, Courage boarded a plane bound for California, where he will be grand marshal in tomorrow's Disneyland Thanksgiving parade.
