I thought this was a April Fools joke or something, lol

I was trying to start a thread for April Fools that sounded fake but was real. Is it just me or did the Imagineers for POC have a thing for redheads.

Um...I too thought this was an April Fools joke. Even still some of that merchandise they've come up with for the 50th is amazing: The Tiki Room Barker Bird for example. JMH has two, count 'em two, articles on this subject. The stuff is really nice, and no doubt expensive.

that painting can be seen at Disneyland's POTC. it resides in the skeleton bar scene at the beginning. hard to miss.
yes,on the special features of the potc dvd,you can watch a slideshow of disneyland's potc ride, and you will see that portrait.shes not nude, but topless, with hair placed perfectly over her you-know-whats.ok.

Well, it looks like you are right, she might be showing some skin. Is it appropriate? Ehhh... probably not. But the bottom line here is it's art, not . If it was a portrait of Jenna Jameson, I might argue differently. I don't think this was in the best taste on behalf of Disney, but with the hundreds, if not thousands of pins out there, I think this will be overlooked quite quickly. This is something you have to use your imagination on to see past the hair. I doubt this will raise a big controversy, but oh well, kinda late now...

Here's a larger pic of the original painting by Disney legend Marc Davis. There's nothing controversial about it at all.

You can read more about it here.

The painting is, as reported in The E Ticket magazine, Fall 1999, the redhead from the auction scene after a few years with the pirates.

Cheers.
