NSSHHP Advanced Ticket Prices

So, my friend and I are planning on attending the Halloween party when we're in Disney in Oct. When she spoke to a Disney rep when booking our trip, she asked about the tickets and the woman mentioned something about an advanced price, but failed to go into any further explanation about it and I know I've seen regular and advanced prices when prices and dates were announced last year, but what we're wondering is what exactly does advanced mean? Is there a period where the tickets are available for certain people before regular public sales? My friend has the DVC, so I'm wondering if she mentioned an advanced price because of that?

Also, dates and prices should be announced soonish, correct? I seem to recall it being around March or April last year.

I've never had DVC (therefore don't know if you'll have a special opportunity, but I don't believe so), but advance just means anytime before the day you would like to attend the party.

You also get a small discount before midnight the day of the party when you order in advance online. You the pick up your tickets at Will Call at MK (get there around 3:30 for the Will Call line because you can enter at 4pm). Also order your tickets in advance depending on when you go (closer you get to the 31st of Oct, the busier) they supposedly sell 20,000 tickets. We went on a sold out night and it felt like no one was there compared to the summer crowds (it was also just a few parties away from the Halloween party on the 31st which is almost always sold out. :) Happy Halloween! Bring a big bag for candy!

The advanced price "discounts" are a way for them to try to get more sales for certain dates. Typically ones that fall on Tuesday for instance. They don't want to offer a "Slower night discount", so they will sell "advance" tickets for those parties a few bucks off. But the say Friday night parties tend to attract more people, so they don't need to push those sales, so only offer tickets at full price.
