Do you guys think that we will FINALLY see a blu ray release of the original, theatrical cuts of episodes 4-6? I know Lucas wanted those buried never to be seen again and that was his personal preference but now that Disney owns the rights and are in it to make money and they dont have that personal attachment to it will we see its release?

I would love it if they did. I prefer the originals the way they were. Some changes wern't terrible, but some are pretty cringe worthy. It would be nice to watch the beginning of Return Of The Jedi again without that horrible CGI dance number. And of course Han shot first.

There are so many things that they changed that really didnt even make sense. I love the Lapti Nek song in Jedi and when they replaced it with that awful whatever the hell that was, I nearly died. The one scene that should have been inserted into episode 4 was the Biggs scene. Why on earth, out of all the nonsensical additions he used, he doesnt use the one scene that would bridge the gap in Biggs and Lukes friendship. So, now when Biggs dies, there isnt much feeling there for the audience. There are so many more and I could go on and on but I have to stop geeking out and come back to the real world. Lol.

Why would they change the movies from theatrical to a different version on DVD? I've never seen any Star Wars movie, but I'm curious.

Pretty sure the OP is referring to the original versions of the film, before George Lucas "fixed" them like a million times. The fact that the theatrical versions are no longer available is a big point of contention amongst hardcore Star Wars fans. George Lucas would say that the originals were no good, that they weren't how they were supposed to be (because of lack of technology, etc.) so they weren't worth selling.

Lol, I hear ya man. I've been known to go on a pretty big tirade before when discussing the "special editions". Don't even get me started on the prequals, lol. I too loved the original Sy Snootles and Max Rebo Band scene from original Jedi. Lucas really did ruin it.
