Greeting from the end of the bar...

I just got back from Disney yesterday, and let me say...Now is the time to go to WDW. The lines are minimal and it's very uncrowded. The longest wait I had was at MK for the Haunted Mansion, but that was because it was storming and everyone wanted to get in out of the rain, but we had to wait on FastPassers. Damn that FastPass. But other than that it was great.

I finally got to experience the new Figment ride, and I have to say I went a little crazy in the Figment shop. The ride was brilliant. It's great to have Figment and "One Little Spark" back. :sohappy:

Is anyone else as impressed with the Mission:SPACE building as I am. Looks awesome, can't wait to climb on board.

Ate at the Rainforest Cafe after hearing some good things about it. My older brother was wrong. The food was over priced and not very good, but they do have a special two t-shirts for $10.

Loved both the Stars and Motorcars and Share a Dream Come True parades.:sohappy: I also finally got to check out Fantasmic. I'm sorry I've missed it over the last few years. More than worth the wait.

Can I just say Alien Encounter is STILL scary as hell, and the TTA is STILL the best way to relax in the MK.

Saw something new at Animal Kingdom and MK. There was this talking tree at AK which entertained while waiting for the park to open. At MK there was a talking fire hydrant.

And the Grammy for Best Entertainer in the Galaxy goes to. . .Sonny Eclipse. I still love him even if he breaks down alot. You have to admit something would be missing at Cosmic Ray's if he were gone. I want my own Sonny T-Shirt and Greatest Hits CD. Hey it could happen.

That's all I've got now. As I remember more I'll add it to the thread. See ya in the park.

Disney Trip...

I recently came back from a Disney trip this weekend, too. My parents flew down from NY with my grandmother into Orlando International Airport on Thursday and from there, they checked into the Polynesian Resort. Me and my younger bro drove up from Naples, FL friday afternoon and checked in at around 4pm. Since we knew that Friday was an E-ride night, we got our e-tickets at the front desk ($12 each) as well as our parking pass and room key and proceeded to the room. We stayed in the "Rarotonga" building. Speaking of which -- does anyone know if this building was once a smoking building? Because the room we had smelled like that smokers were once allowed to smoke in there. Anyways, we had dinner at the Polynesian Luau which is always a good time. The fire dancer in that show always gets the loudest applause because he's VERY good and I think that the general public just enjoys watching other people put their lives in danger anyways so that's always cheap entertainment. The food here was very tasty! The chicken was tender. The ribs were falling off the bone. The shrimp fried rice just kicked butt all around and plus our server was REALLY good -- kept the drinks refilled and we just had an all around good time. After the luau, me and Nick (my younger bro) went to the Magic Kingdom and did Splash Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, and just chilled on the TTA as we really didn't feel like hopping on Space Mountain (especially after a big dinner at the luau). Then, afterwards, we did one quick whirl around Big Thunder Mountain and left for the night. :)

Saturday morning, we had breakfast at the Kona Cafe -- I really don't like this place all that much as their selection is quite limited. In order to fill up on breakfast, you have to eat "The Big Kahuna" which is two eggs, pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage, biscuits... all for $8.99. Not bad price-wise, but the server we had must've either not had enough sleep the night before or was just really bad. We must've asked him 3 times for coffee refills.. nothing. My grandmother needed butter for her pancakes... nope.. didn't get that either.. so... having said that.. we ate what we had (*sigh*), paid the bill, and left.

We had lunch at Cinderella's castle which is ALWAYS an experience. This made up for the miserable breakfast we had at the poly. So, all was forgiven. If anyone goes to the Castle for lunch and/or dinner, order the prime rib -- it's VERY VERY GOOD!!

Anyways, after lunch, me and Nick went back to the Poly, and scooted across the Seven Seas Lagoon on the watermice. Whatever you do, don't go jumping the wakes -- you'll have the guys on the Boston Whalers telling you "NO HOT !" Why is it that they have to take the fun out of everything? Anyways, we didn't stay out too long because there was a thunder storm rolling in (typical summer afternoon thunderstorms -- they're common this time of year), so we went back to the poly, took a nap, and woke up at around 6pm to get ready for the Hoop De Doo Revue.. :)

Hoop De Doo!! Hoop De Doo!!! This show is the CHEESE that Mickey eats. Yes, it's corny.. but it's slap stick comedy and even though I've seen the show a million times before, there's always something in that I find funny. It takes place in a saloon on Fort Wilderness Island. Get their early to beat the crowd because this is a popular dinner show. They serve fried chicken, ribs, baked beans, and corn. All you can drink soft drinks including beer, wine, and sangria. Of course, I'm not a drinker.. so I just stuck with my iced tea. If anyone is going to Disney and you need a little "cheese" to end your day -- this is a must see. Plus, the food, as always, is very good!

Sunday morning - we had breakfast in the room. Nothing too exciting. Me and my bro went to MGM to play the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire game while my parents and grandmother went to Downtown Disney. After MGM, we went to Epcot where earlier I posted "Smelling rubber at Test Track" -- that was always a treat. We only did Test Track and the new Figment ride. I still prefer the original, but they did bring back "One Little Spark" so -- it's a start. By the way -- did anyone notice while you're on the ride and you're looking at the office doors with the names on them?? DEAN FINDER?? Get it??? DREAM FINDER? You think he might be making a comeback? ;) Anyways, we caught up with my parents and grandmother at Epcot where we had lunch at England and then dinner at China. After that -- we left as the rains started to come down again (those pesky thunderstorms).

And on Monday...we left... back to reality..... at least I get to go back to my laughing place I call "work" because I find my job a joke :)

Next trip to Disney? Sometime in October when the weather is cooler and there are no more summer thunderstorms....

Now that's the way to do Disney, ntnhaqquer! Taking your time, and not cramming all the rides into every day. Making use of park hoppers and going all over WDW. I really wish I could do that when I go there, but I only get there once a year (more than a lot of people, though!). I just hate to miss anything!

It's just that I've been to Disney over and over again (this last trip will make 11 times just for 2002 alone. My record is 17 times times from Oct 1, 1999 to Oct 1, 2000) and that I've seen everything so for me to go from one park to the next and only do the things I enjoy --well, yeah, that does make a lot of sense. If you're a first timer to disney or you live hundreds of thousands of miles away, your best bet is to take a week or two and do everything -- leisurely.

3 days = Magic Kingdom
2 days = Epcot (1 day for World Showcase / 1 day Future World)
1 day = Animal Kingdom
2 days = MGM
1 or 2 days = Downtown Disney (depends if you're shopping fanatic)

That's how my family broke it down. Maybe my mother has too much time on her hands ;)
