November 2014 Trip

My wife and I are planning a trip back to wdw in November 2014. I know its a long way off but as we are form the UK we get rather good deals if we book far enough in advance. For example, free dining, reduced ticket prices, even some Disney dollars to spend.

We have been a few times in the past, always hitting the Halloween events because they are fun. We have never done the whole "Christmas" time events at wdw.

What would be the best time of that month to go?. I know there is thanksgiving so I'm wanting to avoid that time of year but we cant go to close to Christmas as we have to book time off of work to spend that holiday with the family.

What other things are there to do at wdw other than the main parks?. Any other Christmas events going on?

Thanks in advance folks

We were there last December 13-16, and my recommendations for Christmas activities include:

-Osborne Family Light at DHS
-Park decorations (I'm not sure what date in November they're up by)
-Resort decorations, including particularly, the life size gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian and the chocolate carousel at the Beach Club
-MVMCP (which we did not have time to attend but did see Holiday Wishes from the Observatory Deck at the California Grill during dinner there)

Enjoy the anticipation of counting down your trip to 2014!

In our very honest opinion, the Fall is the best time to visit Disney!! Beginning of November is best, crowd wise.. (we will be there first week and a half of November) but remember, it can get cool during the evening (comfortably cool, I might add) Mid November, you cannot go wrong. (weather wise, crowd wise, decorations for Christmas, etc) You didn't mention how long your stay would be, but I would suggest end of first week until mid 3rd week of November. You should be able to experience good weather, lower crowd levels, Christmas decorations. As far as what there is to do other than the parks... I wish I had better info for you, but visiting the Disney resorts, DTD .. is all I am aware of.

We went down last year the week after Thanksgivong. Crowds were very manageable and we enjoyed all the Christmas Decor and MVMCP. The weather was considerably nicer than it was back home, we swam comfortably at the resort. I think it's a great time of year to go. I just feel too guilty about taking the kids out of school to make a regular habit out of it. Have a great trip!
