We went last November, the second week. It was just great.

-Crowds were light, almost no waiting, very pleasant.
I have heard that the few weeks between Halloween and Thanksgiving
are among the lightest.

-Cooler, though. We needed sweaters, and even a cap at night!
It almost got down to freezing one night. That's very uncommon, though.
Coldest Illuminations I've ever seen! But during the day it was very pleasant,
shirtsleeve weather.

-We did not go to the Xmas party.

We visit wdw the 2nd week of November every year, and its the only time we will go.

This past year was a little different weather wise...it was really hot the whole week and it rained more than usual. We go in Nov for the light crowds, gorgeous weather, and the very short wait times for rides. The weather is a lot better than the spring/summer months... cool in the morning, 70's by the afternoon, then cool at night...perfect for us! Being able to walk around during the day with shorts and a hoodie and be comfy is always a great thing while in the parks all day.

The xmas party is something you should def try once, especially since you never go during christmastime. They let it snow on Main Street USA, there are awesome shows, hot cocoa & cookies, the Holiday wishes display is fantastic! Its a really great party... there is nothing like being at WDW during the holidays, it truely is an amazing sight to see!

Early november is a great time to visit! Crowds should be low - typically they only get busy in november toward thanksgiving. When I visited in December a few years ago, it was warm during the day & we wore tanks & shorts. At night it got chilly so we brought jeans & sweatshirts for that. You'll probably hit similar weather - it should be cooler than May. Right now it's in the 90's there.

Do the christmas party! It's a lot of fun, and worth checking out once. You get to see the characters in their holiday gear, in addition to all the things tink mentioned ....it's just a really magical & fun experience. :)

Also don't miss the Spectacle of Lights at Hollywood Studios. We really loved that!
