Noticed Animal Kingdom later hours in late Fall??

I happened to notice something odd when recently looking at the hours again for each park for our upcoming trip 10/28-11/9. AK is open until 8pm several nights for regular hours. I have never seen this at this time of year and only during the summer months if ever. Does anyone know why or have you heard anything? I am pretty up to date on all new updates and happenings around the world and do not remember seeing anything about this for this year. I know the nighttime show will be coming in a few years but nothing anytime soon.

Same thing during our trip Nov 12-18th. Not sure why they extended the hours there but we are happy.. we can finally have dinner at AK (Yak & Yeti) at a decent dinner time! We can never do this.

After the clock change on 11/2, sunset is at 5:40pm. I *highly* recommend that you check out AK after dark.

Wow I'm suprised! I specifically scheduled our Ohana ADR early since I'm used to AK closing at 5...bummer we won't get to see it at night!

During these extra hours they close the main gate entrance and let the animals loose. Only the strongest survive.

Yes we have seen it at night before on previous trips because it was open until 6 or 7 after the time change. Kinda weird because not much is open but really pretty. We got an awesome picture after dark looking at Everest from across the water last year in Dec.

You can always keep trying to get a reservation later around 9pm or 9:30pm at Ohana'. Things open up the closer it gets because people have to cancel for many reasons.

Understandable. We always go that late and there is a bunch of people still dining even with little ones so just thought I would suggest it. Lol. Not that I recommend it. Lol

Ugh... now im scrabbling trying to figure out how I can fit the late hours into my schedule... Had dinner at cali grill after our day at AK!
