I really, really wanted to take a Disney cruise after going to the parks forever, as we live within 90 minutes of WDW.
It's just me and my 14 year old son. My husband can't go.
The thing is, I can't find much for us to do on the ship together. It appears that after the show and dinner, we have to go our separate ways in order to have fun. I know there are *family* activities but, they seem largely geared toward younger children. I get that Pirate Night is a family activity and that may work for us. I have to say, my kid is a mature 14, and all he wants to do is take the guided tour of the ship, eat at Palo, and is bummed that he can't.
Taking it a step further, I know he can go to the teen area at night, and he may very well do so. But then, what do I do? Will I be ridiculously uncomfortable going to the lounges by myself?? Are there other things I can do alone?
We don't have issues like this when we visit the parks.
We are looking at 4 nights on the Dream, on 10/23.
Any and all ideas and feedback are most welcome, please talk me back into this cruise!
