Okay - Just got back last night (28th - after a 12 hour drive: WDW to Hampton, VA; 95 was a major pain). Had to go in to work today (Yuck); and I am generally suffering from Post Disney World DEPRESSION. I will post a full trip report in the next few days if anyone is interested, but I have a few thoughts, impressions, what have you, that I need to share now:

First - compared to our June/July 2002 trip, the parks are back to where they should be - back then I was appalled at the burnt out bulbs, chipped paint, etc to be seen. Well, this trip things were back to the standard we are used to: someone has been on to the problem of maintenance - the parks looked great.

Second - Pop Century was great. We have always done moderates in the past. I was leary of budgets; well, Pop Century passes muster quite well: the room was nowhere as "small" as the guide books warned, it was quite as nice as anything at Dixie Landings or the Caribbean Beach. It was quite nice; and as for the atmospere, the over-sized icons made the very basic design of the buildings acceptible, and the cast was dead on - maybe they were "pumped" for the opening; but the service was fantastic; and cast members went more than the extra mile; we had a complex reservation that was handled seamlessly and with great good grace and service that went the extra mile.

Third - We never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus - this is not an exaggeration, really! Only once was a bus not there waiting for us at the stop - and that was the 5 minute wait - Bravo Disney! Was this a special effort for the opening of Pop Century? Whatever. Bus Service was great.

Fourth - My Mom organized this trip, wanting to go at Christmas. I had fun (of course), but I don't know I will try Christmas again - crowds were very, very bad. You couldn't do much after 2PM - Fastpasses gone, long lines...

Fifth - Mission Space: oh, please people: it is not as bad as some are making it out to be. I am prone to motion sickness and hate small places: I had no problems on this ride, which I would say isn't as bad (motionwise) as either Dinosaur or Star Tours.

Sixth - Cool weather = Great Animal Kingdom experience. 2 past trips in July = good viewing of animals on the Safari, Pangani, etc. Cool weather this trip (go in the morning) - whow! - animals out in force. It was great. I love the pictures I got.

Seventh - This was the first time I have done "Whoop-de-doo". Forget the Luau; this the show to see!

Last - I will post a detailed trip report - no sooner than tomorrow - if anyone is interested - otherwise, there are my comments. Damn. I am depressed.

Ah yes, the tramatic post-WDW feeling. I get it all the time. Glad to hear you had a wonderful time!
