Theres a video at Norway?? :veryconfu :D :D
Yep, after riding Maelstrom, guests are invited to watch a short presentation.

The film is supposed to be changed this year... but that announcement was made in 2004. Not sure if it was cancelled or put on hold... time will tell.

I think he was joking about "is there a film." By the way, I hate to admit it, but I'd love it if the new film had a few "in-theater" special effects, like ground fog or something of that sort. Would that ruin it, Grizz? Maybe just SOMETHING to make it special in some way- it is possible that they'll do that, being that the film is usually not super-popular.

And yes, to confim, there were very specific announced plans about a film being "in the making" but I think it literally meant FILMING, so it could be a while before it's released. I'd definately stop to see it.

I must admit, I have never watched the current film. I think it must be because after they keep you waiting around just standing there for so long after the ride you want to leave. IMO that is a really bad set up. Just hanging out near the water for 5 or 10 minutes. I never really timed how long, but it feels like forever...

Film?... Oh yeah... you mean that walk way between the ride and the store with seats and that screen. Yeah I stayed once... not to bad of a flick, too bad its nothing like that new fangled thing called Circle Vision 360. :hammer:

Honestly, has management ever seen the film or do they walk right through the theatre like 95% of guests. I mean heck, they really need to do something to it to attract people to stay. I mean last time i was there a WDW Maintence guy was there testing out the special listening system and it looked like the film was about to put him to sleep.

Heck they could make it a motion simulator type movie like Jimmy Neutron/Hanna Barberrra at Universal.

I really like the Norway movie. I usually watch it if I ride Malestrom. That being said, I don't like having to wait, its like I'm a prisoner. There should be a way to skip the wait if you don't want to watch the movie.

The purpose of the new movie is to update it so people can see what Norway looks like almost 20 years after that movie was made. Believe it or not Epcot is one of the biggest tourism centers for Norway and they use its resources to persuade people to come to the country.

when i went on the ride in may 2005-whats the deal with the troll coming out of the water- the cast member at the end of the ride said "there will be no presentation today because of certain circumstances" so when i was walking through the presentation room the carpets where all wet and there was this thing that was generating heat onto the floor and there was signs on the floor saying "wet floor".

whats the film about-is it about norwegian history?

To be honest I always watch the film, because I like the whole Viking thing, but for the first time on my last trip I found myself wanting to go to Norway the country looks beautiful. I must agree though that there was some poor planning in the design of the ride exit, if they are going to keep us there for so long they need to have something going on that wait blows.

I really like the Norway ride but I never cared much for the movie (Once you've seen it I didn't feel like I had to see it again). When the doors to the theater would open you used to be able to just walk across to the other side of the theater and then through the exit (the entrance and exit doors would open at the same time).

Trolls are big in Norwegian legend, and the ride and pavilion focuses heavily on that.

i already knew that. i learnt all about it in school and books. i had a fair idea of what the ride would include, seems i had never been on it before-i was just saying i didnt expect the troll to come up out of the water.

The movie is obviously way outdated, but that's also part of it's charm. I loved the music in the movie as it always relaxed me and took me "away" to another time and place...

I love new progress and change, so I'm optimistic about the new movie being pretty good whenever it does come out.

For the record: The *only* reason we skipped the movie on our last trip in Jan. is because we wanted to make it back to Cantina De San Angel for dinner, and then to the American Adventure before catching Illuminations.

We usually stay and watch the movie. I have to admit, I felt a bit foolish scurrying through the theater.. but that feeling left when I turned around to see 15 other people hot on my tail

I wouldn't mind seeing an updated film. The current one always freaked me out at the first *boom*. For those of you who've seen it, you know what I mean.
