Non- Resident Annual Passes lots of ??'s

I am looking to getting the annual passes for DisneyWorld in a couple weeks but have a few questions. I am wondering can these be used on any day " except special events" ? I am also kinda of confused about the whole magic band thing, I will always stay on property when we go but how do I do the bands for the resort? Is that a different band and should I keep my resort band separate from my annual pass band? Will my annual pass band be mailed to me and if so do I go to the park as I normally would and just go through the gate and scan and it is automatically activated? I know it is a lot of questions but I want to make sure that I get the full use out of them as possible. I am hoping that with the annual passes when I visit my husband while he is in Miami, I can do small trips to Disney on the way. I thought that was great perks for me!!

Annual Passes have no blackout days. They are not valid for admission to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party or any other events not included in general admission.

Once linked to your My Dis ey Experience account, MagicBands can be used interchangeably. Right now you receive a MagicBand for an Annual Pass and every Disney resort stay. The Annual Pass MagicBand is mailed after you activate your pass. If want to take advantage of any discounts you will need the Annual Pass card, which means you're carrying two tickets if you also bring a MagicBand.
